Has anyone tested whether you can move safefiles from a banned switch to a switch with OFW with the update 8.0.0?

Wii U CDN downloading still works probably because Nintendo doesn't care about that system anymore.

If you mean safe from a banning perspective, you always run the risk of getting banned when running CFW/homebrew. You can use ChoiDujourNX but that is a homebrew application that may flag you for a ban later so unless you never go online, you risk getting banned either way and staying offline is pretty much a ban.

SX OS does not support firmware 8.0. Either use Atmosphere version 0.8.8 or downgrade to a firmware that SX OS supports with ChoiDujour. Keep in mind ChoiDujour only supports firmware versions 6.1 and below.

From what I've seen, the save data transfer tool introduced in 8.0 is a trimmed down version of the User transfer feature which just transfers save data. Both consoles still need the same account meaning they cannot be banned.

Essentially yes. To your second question, that depends on the game itself as different games use different tricks when in handheld mode.

You cannot as that feature is just a trimmed down version of the User transfer feature but only for save data. Both consoles still need the same linked Nintendo account and neither can be banned.

Hi! So I want to put an edited save file on to a clean switch. I misspelled my name in Pokemon let's go like a moron. The method I'm going to use is, make a clean back up of my nand, install CFW in airplane mode, use check point to inject the save. I would then make a back up of the cfw nand, mount it and extract the save data. I would then mount the "clean" nand and replace the save data with the modified one. I would then restore the "clean" nand with the modified save file. Would this even work and what's the risk of being banned?

You can go to 7.0.1 if you want no major issue, for 8.0.0 you might run into file corruption like older 4NXCI XCI converted NSP build could lead to file corruption, there as hotfix for Atmosphere 0.88 after it original release fixing issue with games not being able to run, causing file corruption in the process.

For me I always make a new NAND backup when I update my firmware, I would suggest make a new NAND backup with the boot0/boot1 , rawnand and along with the user and system partition. You would never know when you need it, rebuilding nand ain't fun. 8.0.0 for now seem stable, but on that sig patches thread the OP haven't updated in the opening post because he doesn't trust the source, he wants a legit source not from 4chan.

Keep the old one along with new nand backup if you got spare space if you didn't burn your fuse.

Trying to figure this out because I can’t test out stage builder on smash, this occurs when I launch it, today I did think it had to do with emuiibo because I just dragged that into my switch as card and I did get this error when selecting amiibo but the problem with that thought is it’s not the same title id that emuiibo uses. Not sure what this title id is for yet when searching. I believe this is the right amount of zeros.
    title id 0100000000000004

Hello guys, recently I tried to hack my switch for first time (everything in 8.0.0) and I'm having issues with atmosphere 0.8.8

I downloaded everything from GitHub, used the fusee primary and installed successfully atmosphere, it even shows in the console version. But when I select the gallery menu, it shows normally. I tried holding R while selecting it because I saw some changes in the Homebrew launcher but it's still the same. Anyone has the same issue or knows how to fix it? (I'm using hblauncher 2.1 and hbmenu 3.0.1, the ones that comes in the .zip with atmosphere 0.8.8)

Just for the heck of it, I switched back to my 200gb sd card and now stage builder decided to load. I just got my 400gb recently and now I’m wondering if I added something extra in there, that causes smash to show an error for stage builder or the amiibo section.

    Edit
Never mind, should have made sure everything was working before posting. My switch froze on that screen.

Has anyone been banned using Shofel2 on the switch (running Linux)? Or is it safe?

    Hello,

I hacked my switch on 5.1.0 with ReiNX and I want to update to the latest firmware (CFW), how do I do this? Can I just update through Nintendo's server and then use RCM to apply new CFW? I can't find any information about this.

Some games already require 7.0.1, that's why it's not useless to update. You can turn off autoRCM during the update process with ChoiDujourNX. Keep in mind that you shouldn't do that if you care about not burning fuses (One accidentally boot in OFW without custom payload will burn fuses of your switch up to 7.0.1). Also autoRCM only replaces the need of a jig but you still need to inject a payload somehow. Doesn't matter if its a computer, smartphone or dongle. There are already sigpatches out for 8.0.0 but why do you want to update there? Many homebrew applications are broken for now and no games require 8.0.0 yet.

I noticed the latest es patches for the latest version of Kosmos, v12.1, are only around 4KB zipped, and do not come with the FS patches (previous zips were around 12KB). Are they no longer needed in 12.1 or do I use the old patches and the new patches combined?

And since there is an issue running older games, can I just drag'n'drop the latest nightly commit of atmosphere into my Kosmos directory and have everything work? The only thing I didn't know where to put were the sysmodules, as Kosmos now uses nsp sysmodules and it seems atmosphere only provides .kip still? ::confused::

Do you have a second controller connected? I was wondering wtf when I couldn't get into the homebrew launcher from the joycons on my Switch yesterday to install something and it turns out it was because I already had my Pro Controller connected. So with it connected I could only get into the homebrew launcher by holding R and selecting the album on the Pro Controller. Later with the Pro Controller disconnected I could again use the joycons to get into the homebrew menu.

Can any CFW bypass the cart slot firmware restriction?
    For example, a <3.0.0 CFW using a >4.0.0 slot.

Use SX OS Emunand if you want to stay on lower firmware and emulate another nand that you can update the firmware.
