Hi. New to the Switch scene. A couple quick questions. Can any hacking be done on a patched Switch? I didn't see anything so I'm assuming not yet. I've seen people mentioning "burning fuses". Wondering if that is literal or a software thing.

No, you can’t run CFW on patched units yet.
Burning fuses is a anti downgrade strategy from Nintendo to prevent downgrade. If you update without burning fuses, you can use your console without custom payload after downgrade.

My system auto downloaded 8.0.0 but I didn’t install yet. I turned off auto update since.
Is there a way to “delete” the downloaded 8.0.0 which keeps saying update is ready to be installed, just to be safe?

You can try to reinitialize your system if you don't mind losing data, or else put the unit on airplane mode and then go into maintenance mode, but it is only temp solution until you go online again, also dont post in white, people can't see what you post without highlighting it.

Anyone know of a nsp splitter or xci splitter non python as I dont know what I'm doing
use dividensp.

guys quick question
when i was on 6.2 and pushed hekate payload it used to go in that black menu thing
now on 7.0.1 i push hekate and it goes directly

with the new save transfer system, is there any hopes that we can connect an un-hacked current firmware switch to a PC that "looks like another switch" in order to backup saves without homebrew?

I want to be able to transfer my saves to my PC so I can edit them to make RPG's faster to play, cause the grind is real. But i'm so far past modding my switch and downgrading the firmware, that I just watch for hopeful news.
I miss the flashcart days of the R2. I still have my R2 somehere, just no DS to play it on.

I know this may have been asked a thousand times but I cant really find a proper answer anywhere!

If you overclock a switch in handheld mode to the CPU and GPU clock speeds of docked mode, do games switch to docked mode setting for games? (IE are games tricked in to thinking games are running in docked mode?)

And if so, does this result in supersampling to the Switch display if a game is running at higher than 720P for TV mode?

Has anyone tested whether you can move safefiles from a banned switch to a switch with OFW with the update 8.0.0?

Even for Wii U?
Wii U CDN downloading still works probably because Nintendo doesn't care about that system anymore.

After updating to the latest hekate/Atmosphere releases is it safe to update via System Settings, or should I use ChoiDojourNX?
If you mean safe from a banning perspective, you always run the risk of getting banned when running CFW/homebrew. You can use ChoiDujourNX but that is a homebrew application that may flag you for a ban later so unless you never go online, you risk getting banned either way and staying offline is pretty much a ban.

Hey guys new user here and I got a question.
Quite a Long story
Recently updated my switch to 8.0.0 with the choi app, and I didn’t untuck anything default, so autorcm is on. I’m using sxos and I can’t get it to boot even with the autorcm method and with the dongle. It just turns into black screen. Had to hard switch off every time it does that.
How do I go on about this? What should I do to revert it back?
Can I just hard reset everything and start from scratch? I tried to do that with another sd card with dongle and jig and everything. Same result with black screen.

Thank you for reading
SX OS does not support firmware 8.0. Either use Atmosphere version 0.8.8 or downgrade to a firmware that SX OS supports with ChoiDujour. Keep in mind ChoiDujour only supports firmware versions 6.1 and below.

From what I've seen, the save data transfer tool introduced in 8.0 is a trimmed down version of the User transfer feature which just transfers save data. Both consoles still need the same account meaning they cannot be banned.

Essentially yes. To your second question, that depends on the game itself as different games use different tricks when in handheld mode.

You cannot as that feature is just a trimmed down version of the User transfer feature but only for save data. Both consoles still need the same linked Nintendo account and neither can be banned.

Hello, I would like to get an complete tutorial on how to build linux and kernel with this gitlab . com /switchroot (I cant post any links, I am new here)

THX!

Hi! So I want to put an edited save file on to a clean switch. I misspelled my name in Pokemon let's go like a moron. The method I'm going to use is, make a clean back up of my nand, install CFW in airplane mode, use check point to inject the save. I would then make a back up of the cfw nand, mount it and extract the save data. I would then mount the "clean" nand and replace the save data with the modified one. I would then restore the "clean" nand with the modified save file. Would this even work and what's the risk of being banned?

You can go to 7.0.1 if you want no major issue, for 8.0.0 you might run into file corruption like older 4NXCI XCI converted NSP build could lead to file corruption, there as hotfix for Atmosphere 0.88 after it original release fixing issue with games not being able to run, causing file corruption in the process.

So if i update to 7.0.1 is my understand i dont need to do any backup hence i did on 6.2 right? also if everything gets stable on 8.0.0 whats the best step to update from 7.0.1?backup again or keep my clean 6.2?

For me I always make a new NAND backup when I update my firmware, I would suggest make a new NAND backup with the boot0/boot1 , rawnand and along with the user and system partition. You would never know when you need it, rebuilding nand ain't fun. 8.0.0 for now seem stable, but on that sig patches thread the OP haven't updated in the opening post because he doesn't trust the source, he wants a legit source not from 4chan.

Keep the old one along with new nand backup if you got spare space if you didn't burn your fuse.
