Gaming Super Mario Galaxy 2 - Any signs of Luigi yet?

Loving the game so far. Except for my lack of motherf#$&*ing Luigi. I just got 20 stars, which I thought was the requirement. Has anybody unlocked him yet? Is he waiting in a certain galaxy?

Instead, he will be playable once "20 or so stars" have been collected, and is able to do everything Mario can. He says he'll "be around," and will sometimes be waiting for you when you begin a level with Mario, allowing you to switch out.

You need to go to Tall Trunk Galaxy. That's where Luigi is.

Just got both Tall Tree Trunk stars. One of the whittles mentioned 'green stache'. That's it

Just keep on playing in World 3, get the first star in each galaxy and you should unlock it soon

get 20 stars. he meets you on the hub level and says he was late just after that. he is NOT usable in all worlds though, only some.

Finaly i got 40 stars now i can defeat bowser for the second time

you don't play as luigi all the time, as far i can tell he just pops before starting a level where i can switch from mario to play as luigi, but once finished you go straight back to playing as Mario. I unlocked luigi in world 3

When you ly into the level, he'll be there waiting for you to speak to him. Do so, you play the level as luigi.
But not all the time.

**Spoilers** after youve beaten the final Bowser, You can switch freely between mario and luigi on starship mario. Before that, Luigi only appears in some levels which you can switch to him.
