So could someone explain what's the problem with dumping SSBB ? Is it just because it's dual layer ? If so, what is hard with dumping a dual layer, I don't understand what's hard to do ? Isn't it the same as single layer but just need a DVD drive that reads DL ?
Wii disc are dumped like RAW data, so, current dumpers are programmed to dump discs from 0 to (let's make an example) 45000000, but will not read anything after that. That's the standard size for a single layer discs, but DL are bigger.
So we need a special DL Wii game dumper that supports DL discs and doesn't stop to the end of the first layer.
I think that's real that a DVD5 dump is out there and that can be made without too much problems (READ this well, I'm not saying that is AVAILABLE anywhere, it's only available to who has the game and dumped it himself/herself) but Scene groups can't release a probably incomplete and malfunctioning dump, so they're searching for a way to dump correctly a DL game.
BTW, it's nice to see that I was correct on Brawl being DVD9
Hmm... but if it would be that simple, then why didn't they just overwrite that 45000000 with 90000000?
QUOTE(Rulza @ Jan 31 2008, 07:27 PM)Why are people saying that the Wiikey team is slow with updates? The SMG update only took like 3 days and you got to play the game 3 months earlier than everybody else.
The audiofix update was slow, yes, but as far as i understand there was another guy working on the updates then.
