Gaming Spyro: Year of the Dragon DRM

A friend of mine is planning to buy Spyro 3 on disc (to play it on PS3) as he has the first two games as well. The problem is, Spyro 3 is known for triggering a DRM that deletes your save file at the end of the game.

The game hasn't been added to the Wiki compatibility list, so I'm wondering: what are the chances of the DRM triggering on a PS3? Several games have freezing problems with Demos and Spyro 2 has FMV problems as well.

It runs fine on the PS3. In fact, the PS1 Classics variant is nothing more than the Original version of the game running via a PS1 emu, the same one used for playing them from the disks.

Theres is a couple of game breaking glitches in the original black label version (unable to collect all gems and dragon eggs)
But thats about it
the greatest hits version fixed these bugs
