If I missed the release of an ODE for PS2 please tell me?! I know of something in the works that may be a "universal ODE" for practically anything, but nothing that can be bought right now...
Tito covered it over on his channel, and it's in prototyping phase right now. But it's stupidly easy to solder and just has some ribbons.

For me, the original Playstation is so damn good looking that staring at it while playing a game is a big part of the experience. To be fair, I probably feel that way about most consoles.

:rofl2: I must have dreamed they are still available with two clicks. Absolutely no offerings. Silly me…

Not for me.

This doesn't gain anymore truthfulness by repeating over and over again with no evidence. Just because a few garbage CDs failed, it doesn't mean there are none that last a few decades. Besides: I did an analysis in this regard last week. Result is: Burned optical discs fare pretty well; better than most other stuff. Media quality and storage conditions absolutely matter. The discs without proper coating/label from factory on are prone to damage.

You lost that bet. Mine are still all fine.

Then you share your wisdom with us: Which storage medium does not degrade/decay? What medium solved the problem of long-term digital data storage? Two decades isn't bad for digital storage. Most flash memory devices I had didn't even reach the age of 5.
I know none that would last forever. What do you think I have this signature for?

This condescending way of talking about anything that wasn't released in the last two days slowly but surely makes me sick.
These Verbatim discs are not the best. Unless they are DataLifePlus or UltraLifePlus I wouldn't touch them as they are not much better the Maxel Music CD-Rs. In my experience, the CMC Pro discs available on Amazon are the best 80min CD-Rs for the PSX still made new to this day.All the hiqh quality CD-Rs are pro-grade and they are meant to last decades. When I was experimenting with new old stock Verbatim DataLifePlus 74min CD-Rs from the late 90s last year they literally all burned and worked correctly.

The best way to play PS1 games IMHO is real unmodified hardware + Tonyhax International flashed cheat cart + high quality CD-Rs (CMC Pro 80min or new old stock 74min Verbatim DataLifePlus) but I'm obviously biased.

Those early DataLifePlus discs used a dye that tends to go bad overtime, imo I still prefer using CMC Pro discs for burning PS1 games.

I just played little of "Still Wakes The Deep" , just came to gamepass today, its alright, kinda creepy. I'm not usually a horror game fan, but it looks really good graphic wise, esp w 4k. I admit it made me jump a few times.
