Hello.

I have some questions about the SNES power.

I'm planning to get either an NTSC SNES or Super Famicom.
On NTSC and Japan N64s you can just use an EU plug safely.
Can you also use an EU plug on USA and Japan SNES?

I read the SNES uses different voltages and even AC (PAL) and DC for NTSC and Japanese Super Famicom.

What do I have to do? I'm in Europe atm. (Not UK)

If I need a power adapter, what kind of voltage adapter do I have to use for NTSC SNES? And what for Super Famicom?

Thanks.

I can only say for the europe PAL SNES that you can use both DC and AC and you can rest assure that it can take 9 to 11V and a minimum of 850mA.
There's a voltage stabilizer and a AC->DC converter on the mainboard and a fuse so...
I doubt they really changed much for the USA version, but the PPU (AKA GPU) has a different crystal for the NTSC output is different in speed and the CIC has a different key in it.

From what I can find only the PAL SNES has a bridge rectifier built in, and is thus capable of taking both AC and DC. US and Japanese models do specifically need DC or else they'll fry.
Your best bet would be to just buy a proper modern PSU (https://www.firebrandx.com/triads.html search for the correct one on that page) or get an original one from the same region and then an active adapter to adapt local plugs and voltage to the one the PSU needs.

https://consolemods.org/wiki/Comparison_of_Power_Supplies#Fourth_generation_of_consoles search for Super Nintendo (US) you'll see 3 models and thier description.
i see you're right first models of NTSC (japan and US) had DC needed, see:
https://consolemods.org/wiki/SNES:SNES_Model_Differences
further might you ever screw up the main board: https://github.com/stonedDiscord/nonSNES

I looked at https://rondoproducts.com/products/rondo-products-snes-con-kit?dt_id=540873;ap:225158 to connect an NTSC SNES, but there are 2 options: North America and international.

I'm very very confused since both options show both NTSC plugs in the pictures and the other picture show more plugs, for both options.

I'm in Europe (Not UK).
So what do I need to choose?
Do I choose the international one or the North America one?

Also it wouldn't make any sense if you're already in the USA???

On my Super Famicom I use an original UK Mega Drive power supply.

Don't know if these are different on mainland Europe (other than the pins of course).

What if you just use the NTSC plug (not for the wall outlet obviously)

Is a power converter enough? And if so, what one?

Edit
And what about Super Famicom incase if I end up getting an SFC.

also I put the 6V wiper motor back in

and it runs off of a potentiometer so it doesn't get 12V

reason being is the 12V motor parks the wipers in the wrong place every time

6V wiper motor is the key ingredient. parks nice and low
