Hi, I'm new here and got a Wii recently.

I can't get my Xbox360 controller to work on my Wii. In USB0 (first from bottom) is connected a HDD with USBLoader GX and other apps, in port USB1 I connected my wired, original, white Xbox 360 controller. Snes9x RX recognizes my controller, the player1 led turns on but nothing happens. The app loads only if the controller is disconnected.

I read somewhere that the controller works better in port 0, but I also know that HDD works better there. I have no SD card (I have one sdhc but it works when it wants).
The port doesn't matter, i have personally tested all possible combinations whether you use SD or USB, both on Wii or Wii U. Check the readme and the instructions for the 360 controller, just in case. It worked every single time for me.

Hi guys,

I followed the readme, section USB CONTROLLERS, and here are my steps:
Setup:
Wii 4.3U (with GC ports on top)
Homebrew Channel, 1.1.2 IOS58 v24.32
SNES9xRX 4.8.0
HDD only WD Passport 1Tb, no SD card
Wii2HDMI adapter
Xbox 360 Controller, white, wired, genuine
WiiMote with motion plus, both genuines

I
=> USB0: Controller
=> USB1: HDD
* Connect the Xbox 360 Controller;
* Turn on Wii;
* Xbox Controller ring blinks
* Open Homebrew Channel;
* Xbox Controller ring off
* Open SNES9xRX
* Select Top Gear 2 (USA) and Load;
* Player 1 led activates
Result: Controller works 100%, but SNES9xRX doesn't load my settingsRX.xml from /apps/Snes9xRX. Instead, it creates a /Snes9xRX and a new settingsRX.xml

II
=> USB0: HDD
=> USB1: Controller
* Connect the Xbox 360 Controller;
* Turn on Wii;
* Controller ring blinks
* Open Homebrew Channel;
* Controller ring off;
* Open SNES9xRX;
* Select Top Gear 2 (USA) and Load;
Result: SNES9x RX loads partially, shows background and logo only, no list, no other button or option. Player 1 led activates (Xbox). Home button (wiimote) doesn't work, can leave only pressing and holding power button.

III
=> USB0: HDD
=> USB1: Controller
* Turn on Wii;
* Open Homebrew Channel;
* Deleted /Snes9xRX/* via ftp;
* Open SNES9x RX
* Connect the Xbox 360 Controller;
* Controller ring dead;
* Select Top Gear 2 (USA) and Load;
Result: Controller works 100%, /apps/Snes9xRX/settingsRX.xml loaded successfuly

IV
=> USB0: HDD
=> USB1: Controller
* Turn on Wii;
* Open Homebrew Channel;
* Deleted /Snes9xRX/* via ftp (if exists);
* Open SNES9x RX
* Select Top Gear 2 (USA) and Load;
* Connect the Xbox 360 Controller;
* Controller ring blinks;
Result: Controller doesn't work, /apps/Snes9xRX/settingsRX.xml load successfuly

Is Wiiflow compatible? I mean with just one button it kicks back to wiiflow or the app exits to the list of games inside snes9x and then you can go back to wiiflow?

It is. I don't use Wiilflow though, so that question might be better answered by Tetsuo Shima.

At least, it's clear, it will teach me to be more wary, in addition to saving me time.

You have the right not to love, but politeness is the least of things.

Just being honest, pal! If i told you it was great you'd keep doing it wrong. Even the one with the dinosaur was a bit too much. Anyway, you can use them for your Mushroom!

I have been testing a basic USB HID controller framework for the emulator, hopefully it will be done for 5.0.0. No promises, though!
Pretty nice if it gets released I will make inject for the community and keep up great work

New release is up! (4.9.0)

* Reduce save buffer size on GCN. Should fix preview glitch. [Tantric]
* Snes9x - Increase SRAM size to 512KB. [cout]
* Wii U widescreen patch, report whether Wii U CPU is full speed. [Daryl]
Use the Credits section to see it (press the Snes9xRX logo on the main menu)
* Fix some warnings. [bearoso]

Official Wii U Channel available now, tested and working like a charm. Check the readme for installation instructions in case you need them.

Other 4.9.0 versions will follow, gonna get some rest now to go back to work later, maybe do the rest of the zips at nightfall.
