I'm NOT asking for a CIA of the game. I'm asking:
1. Up to what update does the game work on 9.2?
2. If it can be done, can the latest update be spoofed to work with 9.2?

I think you also would need the spoofed update too, or else it won't recognise it. Both spoofed game and update should be available over there.

I have a Question.... If my Smash Bros Game CIA is Cryptofixed, then I don't need to spoof the update?
You have to cryptofix both the update and the game. You could also just use a 10.4.0 emunand which supports it w/o firmware spoofing.

I'll try to, but I constantly lose my CIAs whenever I click "Complete Emunand Setup" and you have to do it multiple times, meaning I will lose my CIAs, save data and BBM very often, unless there was a way it can backup all CIAs and restore them each time:(

-Copy-paste Reinand on your microSD (if you've got a n3DS)
-System settings -> update
-Wait a minute
-Reboot
-Download every updates you want using the eShop.
-Done.

VS.

-Creating a thread on gbatemp
-Find the spoofed cia update somewhere on the internet
-Copy-paste file on the microSD
-Install the game update using FBI (takes time because a lot of data for a Smash update)
-Done.

Yea, I'm quite unsure about what thing is the longer. I guess that updating emunand is way faster and easier in fact.

If you have an o3DS, I recommend you run one of the rxTools 3.0 nightlies with EmuNAND.
There's a great guide on this process in the tutorials section.

http://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-installing-rxtools-custom-firmware-3ds-and-2ds.390867/

What you are doing now is a major pain in the ass and is way more complicated in the long run.
Seriously, set up an EmuNAND.
Alright, I'll do this weekend, what with everything going on, I don't have a good amount of time to be able to do this atm:glare:

If you have any questions feel free to ask them in that topic, or in this one, if I'm around I'll certainly reply.

The tutorial seems pretty big and scary but really it's not that complicated.
From the sound of it whatever tutorial you were following isn't very well designed if it has you running an EmuNAND creation tool without having you back up the SD Card first. x_x

I know the process is kind of long and complicated but that's sort of just how you have to do things, and once you have it all set up you don't have to worry about stupid things like firmware spoofing and not having eShop access. It's way more sustainable than running a SysNAND with unsigned content on it, forcing you to have to boot into a SysNAND cfw every time.

I followed this tutorial, it's really up to date as this was made with the most recent info in all of the downgrade craze back when Memchunkhax2 first came out.
https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-more-or-less-catch-all-tutorial.407080/
They're already running 9.2, and the latest rxTools nightlies are most ideal, cakes isn't really the best cfw, I find.
(I've tried all the CFW out there at the moment)

@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves

why the shit does the shitbox randomly insert newlines in my messages

It does that when I edit a post.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It inserts a newline in a random spot.

  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
do y'all think having an sd card that has a write speed of 700kb/s is a bad idea?
trying to restore emunand rn but it's taking ages... (also when I finished the first time hekate decided to delete all my fucking files )
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@Karma177 that sd card is 100% faulty so yes, its a bad idea
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the slowest non-sdhc sd cards are a few MB/s
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
@The Real Jdbye it hasn't given me any error trying to write things on it so I don't really think it's faulty (pasted 40/50gb+ folders and no write errors)
