So basically one of the features of the DS-X is customizable skinning, but like I've barely seen any skins for it. Any links, or explanations?

is sort of a guide, and dsx wiki (which I don't think is up anymore) used to have a good guide. Maybe find someone who has a back up of that...

As far as I know though, for us "average joe's" of basic coding and graphics... skinning is still a long way off. AND we still can't change the freaking top screen. HOW LAME

Yeah part of the reason I am pissed at team DS-X (amongst other things) was a easy fully skinnable UI. Oh wait, you can only skin half of it (bottom screen) and there isn't an official way to do it. Or even software from the company to do it. And it's not easy, even if one knows what they are doing. Bullshit.

I couldn't agree more. I actually (i know it's lame) LOVE skinning when it's easy to do... I skinned my old Iriver H320 like a crazy man. And the fact that I can't easily make a St. Louis Cardinals theme for my DSX has made me infinitely more angered than the slow firmware updates. Since I am one of the lucky ones who has never had any problems with my hardware, all I can bitch about is the fact that I can't skin

If they gave me a way to substitute my own pic with the DS-X logo on the top screen, I'd be happy with that.

Come on! Their skinning support is just as slick as their Mac OS support! Oh wait, those are still vaporware after nine months!
