I think it should be one of those things people who want a controller pay extra for if they truly want it, and if it leads to controllers getting better build quality (cheap joystick modules, anyone? Even on controllers for the l33t?) to justify their current asking price.
Personally, outside of emulating Wii games, I want nothing to do with motion controls myself. And while I appreciate their inclusion in modern controllers, if I could save, oh, IDK, like, $10-20 on a DS5 or Switch Pro Controller and get a better d-pad/joysticks that won't drift for reasons that have nothing to do with neglect on the part of the user, then I think giving consumers more options is the way to go!
