No idea about your first post, but you'll want to keep a vita memory card if it's an original phat model in case something gets messed up somehow and you have to re-hack your Vita . The slim models have built in memory I think and you can get by without one.

So, from what I can gather, you sucessfully migrated to SD2Vita as your primary storage (ux0). I think you maybe forgot to copy the data from your original storage to the sd2vita.

So either install Vitashell again or copy all content from your old memory card (or internal memory, whichever you installed vitashell to) to the sd2vita first.
Since you're using either Storage-mgr or another plugin to mount your sd2vita as ux0, you'll need to disable this first. Without access to vitashell you'll need to hold the L Button on boot or when loading h-encore (chose whchever method you hacked your Vita with) to launch without loading your henkaku config. Enter Vitashell and copy everything from ux0 (which is now again your old storage) to your PC via FTP or USB and copy it onto the SD of your SD2Vita.

If you are on firmware 3.60 or 3.65 with enso then you do not need the official memory card.
If you're above 3.65 and have a vita 1000 then you will need an official vita mem card to allow you to launch h-encore. If you have a vita 2000 or pstv above 3.65 you can use the internal 1GB 'memory card' as the location to install h-encore, so you wont need an actual vita mem card.

With enso the exploit is loaded at boot so you're fine. Without enso you need h-encore installed on official storage that is available prior to you activating the exploit each boot.

The 64K clusters formatting prevents the vita from incorrectly reporting the amount of free space for those who run a 200GB microsD or larger.

I'd recommend keeping the memory card. A Vita 1000 does not have any internal storage so if you ever decide to remove the hack to reinstall or whatever, you'll need a memory card to hack it again.

A Vita 2000 and a PSTV have 1Gb of internal storage that can be used to hack the device on firmware versions 3.60, 3.65 and 3.68 - these can always be hacked without a memory card.

But even if it's not necessary: selling it won't bring in much money and you can always use the card as additional storage for PSX/PSP titles to be used with Adrenaline or ROM storage for Retroarch. Basically, it's another 16Gb to be used for content.

But basically:

Got a Vita 2000 or PSTV? - You can sell it if you want (i.e. it's not needed for hacking)

Got a Vita 1000 with Enso? - You can sell it, but if the hack ever gets lost you'll need to repurchase a memory card

Got a Vita 1000 without Enso? - You can't sell it, it's required to run h-encore.

i thought everybody knew cocktails are like 75% ice
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Yeah but not like this.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the funny thing is cocktails in norway are only allowed to have 1 20ml shot of booze
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    so..... yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
we're used to only having a thimbleful of booze

same thing if you want whisky on the rocks or something, you can't get a double
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but you could buy as many shots of whisky (or anything else) as you want and ask for a glass of ice and pour them in
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    it's dumb
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Maybe.

There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.

Usually accidentally overdose of ibuprofen here is from people taking like cold medicine then ibuprofen for a headache and the combination is over what they need
