Homebrew Retroarch for 3DS in development

So yeah, aliaspider has made a bunch of commits since this thread was first created, any improvements?

as long as they follow their no frameskip policy even on weak consoles, don't expect things to be nicely playable after nes/gbc

Eh, genesis and snes (outside of some of the specialized chips) should be doable (provided you're not attempting to use bsnes emulation core anyways).

I'm incompetent with github. Would someone be able to pull, compile and post a .3ds or similar file for testing? I get that it's probably quite unstable in the current form, but curiosity is killing me.

Gambatte should work also in 3DS/CIA cause it doesn't use Dynarec. Anyway, first i'll try gpsp core and after this, i'll try to do 3DS/CIA build.

Thank you! I've been trying so long today getting it to work for my iPad, but then i found this!

Seriously, this looks amazing.

the 3ds is not worlds more powerful than a psp was. and there, snes games were often laggy without at least some frameskip enabled. same thing for the gba games. retroarch for psp is basically useless (compared to the other emulators available) since they dont do frame skip. I expect a similar outcome on the 3ds for anything beyond snes.

Compiled with Gambatte core (so GBC) and results are very bad.
If someone wants to try: http://rinnegatamante.netsons.org/retroarch_3ds.3dsx

How did you get this to compile at all? When i try, it just says:

Code:
$ make -f makefile.ctr
ctr_sprite.shader
python /E/programming/devkitpro/msys/aemstro_as.py gfx/drivers/ctr_sprite.shader
ctr_sprite.shader.shbin
bin2s ctr_sprite.shader.shbin | /E/Programming/devkitpro/devkitARM/bin/arm-none-
eabi-as -o gfx/drivers/ctr_sprite.o
{standard input}: Assembler messages:
{standard input}:1: Error: bad instruction `bin2s -By Sjeep'
{standard input}:2: Error: bad instruction `bin2s infile outfile label'
make: *** [gfx/drivers/ctr_sprite.o] Error 1

It's like it's trying to use the bin2s command as an assembler instruction or something (wtf?).

any chance it can (significantly) take advantage of the higher specs of the new 3DS?
