Alright, before this gets any more out of hand, I'm going to make proper calls for proof from people claiming latency in emulation versus real systems and their numbers.

As in, something other than a vocal claim that it's there. Proof that it's there. I can go through recordings frame-by-frame if required.

EDIT: Also don't upload videos to streaming services like youtube, they cut it down to 30FPS and such. Stick some raw recording clips on mediafire or mega or something so I can access the raw files and get frame-by-frame what was captured if that's the case.

I love the way you think  ABX testing should have been done a long, long time ago, but yes, the more empirical testing we do, the better.

They have been done already, what do you think lag-obsessed people are basing their claim on ?

Once again, frame by frame testing will only show that some added latency IS there, as expected by anyone understanding how emulators work... there is absolutely NOTHING you can do to reduce this latency to null, you need to accept it and move on...

but that does not mean that this 2-3 frames latency is anywhere noticeable when playing games as some people want to believe

actually, i even think that KNOWING they are using emulators and SEEING those measures is what actually persuade them they can FEEL it too

Jacobeian, I think you are right plus a hint of pointless winding up thrown in sometimes by some for.....I can't figure it out myself reasons.

So... I was in this topic doing my catchup as it's a long time from I've been here and the dev's have run off again...

Who can blame them though ? ( and all the others, who I miss )

Guess I'll sign up for the another forum, again, which is a shame. For every single app or homebrew game I need to sign up for an individual site each time....it's beyond silly now.

It's a shame for this site to lose more interesting people, a shame they wasted time here and a shame on anyone actually trying to improve things around the Wii/console scene in general.

It would have been good if we all could have had 1 or 2 sites to check, containing informative and educational posts that were interesting and helped build knowledge.

They're basing their claim on nothing but word only, and in this day and age, who honestly goes by word of mouth only? Not having evidence isn't going to help, actual proof and hard facts need to be posted. I can just as easily claim that Sega could have reentered the console wars, but without evidence, my claim would be invalidated.

Yeah ...mods should put some of their energies spent blocking GIFs into problems of this magnitude ...problems that make our reputation worst among Devs, and fragment the community...

If I was a mod I'd suggest that someone in the moderation would contact this guys, apologizing, offering support and saying that a especial attention would be given to their threads to avoid other incidents of this nature, in case they want to come back.
Cause there is no reason to ignore a good Dev support lost... ...even though I doubt mods would get their hands dirty like that..

I would say that mods should move their asses and stop with the bullshit and prioritize their actions based on the relevance of the problems that affect the community health ...but since it's not of my business (and cause I can't see the whole picture, since I'm not a mod), I won't.

Many would be banned, from all" levels" here. There are technical forums out there. Up to Costello as to what kind of site he wants. Some are colorful, some are jerks for a purpose at times, others sit back and take 15 years to approach 30,000 posts.

Sarcasm can be funny and while I am not at all amused by some, I forgive as I want to be forgiven. I won't call for any ban personally. Take dev talk into private rooms or note only replies will be about positive comments. "I think this makes sense because" statements are great. Cannot post work and expect all to kiss your feet and sugar coat it all. Need a balance though and devs could start with a thicker skin.

Bottom line: don't post anything about your work. Dev, maybe ask a few for private input and later release...or do not. Not everyone will suck up just to be liked. Not everyone will like the work.

Still having problems trying to get it to work. Still get black screen upon loading. I don't think its my wii because all my other Homebrew and emulators work just fine I think its the restro its self. It works for some people and for other it does not for some reason. I am trying to get some support from the official site.

For the love of... What does it take to get a thread locked around here!!?? Before another flaming war begins over RA 0.9.9 please lock this thread up, we can make another one without the massive river of tears to wade through.

you can report off topic and/or inappropriate posts. in case you find a new thread won't stop the posts you don't like. some may belong even if you don't like them.

ah, i was just about to ask. so the problems with the new retroarch blacking out back to the homebrewchannel is due to some problem with loading from usb?

Does anyone here know how to get Quake Mission Packs to work on the tyrquake core for new retroarch? Quake full game plays fine but when I try to load Rogue or Hipnotic paks it code dumps or exits to homebrew channel/system menu. I know my mission packs are good because tried and played them with glquake.

Yes, there was a USB regression, but Toad King is going to release a quick bug fix today to fix that and the speed regressions :P
