These are the best news since almost forever :D
I absolutely f*cking agree. Seriously everytime another Pokémon "inspired game" / clone / mod / new official entry pops up, I'm like
"Why is this franchise so big instead of DQM which was the waaay better GB game back then? And why in the motherf*cking world is Square Enix f*cking around that much with localizing all of their very few DQM games they made?"
Then I always remember how great DQM was on the GBC and that this PSX remake might be the perfect 2D version of it and that my life is such a sad life because there's no english translation for it yet.

Tom made an Update on his twitter about this:

A short while ago, Kingcom told me that he would like to resume hacking Dragon Quest Monsters 1 and 2 at some point early next year.

Wow nice, I loved those games but never knew there was even a PSX version of it.

Looks much better then the old GB / GBC versions.

Sadly they never officially ported the remakes for the DS to the US and or Europe ;(
Even now I think DQM / DQW is much better franchise then Pokemon !

Oh yeeees! Can't wait! Hopefully it'll come to an end this time.

Absolutely agree.
The 3DS games were translated by fans though.
I still prefer the 2D art style. Thus I'm counting on the PSX translation project.

I have been searching a lot about this and as I have seen there are many insisting on this translation and I hope that it will come out at some point and we can play this gem
I would even create a bounty for this but I don't know on which site I could do so. Bountysource is for Github issues only, sadly.

Just a few days ago I asked tom and he said that he finished the translation and had passed it to kingcom and that he would take care of the script too bad I don't know how to contact him for news or anything but we just have to wait and see when he will do the translation

It's been so long since the translation is expected and neither he nor anyone else has tried to translate this great game. I don't understand what's going on. Wow, it's incredible that people who talk about this leave such a famous game aside.

I'm a little confused now. He finished translation?!
Why would Kingcom need to translate it any "further" then? Or do you mean Kingcom is just testing the translation (aka playthrough)?
Anyway thx for the update and for going after this. At least someone who loves that project as much as me. :)

There used to be somehow Acekard 2i clones and DSOne clones, but they seem to have disappeared off the site, perhaps old remaining stock that they had lying around.

Speaking of Angband, why has no one ever made Angband 3D for the 3DS?
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@anotherthing, And a let down it was. I was quite fascinated when EZ-Flash announced the product, and wanted to buy it. But was let down by the reviews and the responses from people on here, hence why I avoided it like the plague, as if I really needed another one. I'm fine with what I've currently got atm. :P

    I bought one.

@anotherthing, How was it? Did it suck per usual?

    It's very not exceptional.

I was expecting it to do something more than pretty much every other card out there, and it doesn't do anything more.

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Understandable. I did try to warn others about this cartridge, but they didn't listen to me or anybody else about the EZ-Flash and bought them anyways, only to realise that they wasted their money.

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@anotherthing, It acts kinda the same way as an Ace3DS+ cartridge, because it uses the commonly known Wood kernel as a base.

I have three EZ Flash Omega/DEs and I really was thinking that the EZ Flash Parallel would work similar to how the Omega worked. Where it recognizes the file extension and loads that file accordingly.

  • A @ anotherthing:
To play an NES game on the EZ Flash Omega, you just toss it on the SD card and select it from the menu and it loads it in to the NES emulator.

  • A @ anotherthing:
The EZ Flash Parallel just works like every single other card I have.

My wife just got a 3DS, and I was hoping that the EZ Flash Parallel was something I wouldn't have to walk her through.

  • A @ anotherthing:
I can walk her through how to do something like loading an NES game on a $10 cartridge.

At least she has a console to play games on. :D

I've never played Animal Crossing Wild World for a long time. Probably the best games on the system so far.

I hadn't played the game in about a year until she started playing it. My first day back involved a lot of weeding.

Speaking of chores, they need to be started in about six and a half hours, so I need to hit the sack.
