Hi all,

I’ve been revisiting some old classics on my Game Boy Advance, and I’m curious to hear from everyone else—what’s your absolute favorite GBA game, and why?

For me, it has to be The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past & Four Swords. I absolutely love the mix of adventure, puzzles, and action. It’s a timeless classic, and the addition of the Four Swords multiplayer mode was a lot of fun. The graphics and music are also top-notch for a GBA game.

I’d love to hear your picks and what makes your favorite game stand out!

Though choice...

I've played Metroid Fusion a bit too much, and then there's Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi's Island which is my fave SNES game. But there's also Puzzle League in my opinion a better puzzle game than Tetris. And recently discovered Summon Knight and instantly became a favourite. And the there's Pokémon Emerald.

For nostalgia's sake I'll say Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi's Island.

Pokemon Ruby. Yes, not Emerald. It wasn't the one I grew up playing, and Ruby has the coolest box legendary. That said I love all 3.
Zelda Minish Cap is also a favorite. I usually don't like 2D Zeldas that much, Minish Cap is one of the only ones I beat, including 100%ing the figurines.

Kirby Amazing Mirror
Mario Luigi Superstar Saga
Metroid Zero Mission
Wario Ware

I ranked Kirby first because I played a lot of it right when my Kirby fanboyism was at its peak, but I still replay it from time to time.

It's so cool when playing with others. Crazy to think how it's a open world game with 4-player free-roaming where each one can be in completely different corners of the in-game world.

I did play a lot of Sonic Advance and Bomberman Max Blue 2 as a kid because I owned these carts and played on the real gba.

I also played Mother 3 somewhat recently and I really enjoyed it, but one of those parts made me put the game on infinite hiatus.

Kirby's Nightmare in Dreamland

Although it's a fantastic game, I bought it as a teenager, not knowing it was just a recreation of Kirby's Adventure (Because it wasn't marketed as such just by the front of the box), and the games were locked behind a glass cabinet, so I couldn't look at the back of the box. I bought it thinking it was a brand new Kirby game for GBA. And after the initial letdown wore off, I learned to love it. It's still my go-to GBA game to this very day because of how easy it is to pick up and put down. I mostly play it on my Analogue Pocket, but I'm still searching for a legit copy on cartridge, preferably one of the later ones that didn't need a save battery.

Súper Mario Advance 4: Súper Mario Bros 3

You get one of the best 2D Mario games in 16 bit on the go, in addition you get a remake of the original Mario Bros Arcade and a full on DLC expansion

Groudon supremacy.

Can't really settle on a single choice myself, there are just too many bangers in the GBA line up.
All the Gen 3 Pokemon games are top tier, Fire Red and Leaf Green make me incredibly happy and just feel cosy.
Yu Gi Oh Stairway to the Destined Duel has incredible music and nice simple gameplay before the cards got crazy.
Metroid Fusion and Zero Mission are brilliant, ZM in particular has some of the smoothest movement ever.

Metroid Fusion was a big game for me. At the time, I thought "wow, Nintendo's still got it." I felt that Metroid Fusion was a great follow up to Super Metroid. It's a shame that, like F-Zero or Star Fox, Nintendo doesn't quite know how to move forward with the franchise.

I recommend Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap because Capcom did a fantastic job. The game is addictive and has great 2D Zelda gameplay. I've been meaning to revisit it. I heard the decompilation was complete, so who knows where interest in Minish Cap will be in a few years.

There are many GBA titles I love and have replayed many times: Mother 3, all Fire Emblem, Zelda Minish Cap, Pokemon FireRed, Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories, Castlevania Aria of Sorrow, Metroid Fusion, Mario & Lugi Superstar saga, Boktai...

...but I think the Golden Sun saga marked more... I loved that saga so much the first forum I joined was about GS.

I have little experience with Golden Sun, but I enjoyed the early buzz it got. It was one of those JRPG's that helped put the GBA on the map.

kirby and the amazing mirror, i love all the kirby gamnes but I love the map system on this one. They also introduced a whole bunch of cool powerups like the smash powerup. I also really like the storyline, for a kirby game it's amazing
