I guess there is only 1 way to make a game for homebrew.

For RPG you got Pokemon games to hack

And for Platformer you can use SMB (3) level editors.

@Jacklack3: Again, if you want, I could send you the development executables if you want to test them.
Sure!

Close this thread please. This man has already gotten his answer. Just use rpg maker and wait till' RPG maker comes out by Rinnegatamante.
We can discuss about this topic.

Just have a mod delete the posts that dont relate to this topic in anyway.

ohh... that should be corrected... in México, we refer to an USA person as "Estadounidense", but, returning to the main theme... it would be helpful, in old days of GBA, Pokémon, Mario and other good games got their, a lot of, own hackapps, hope someone take their time to build one xD
Im in Mexico school now!

I just now need a totorilla hat!

(i mean tortillas are dillicois so this post isn't racist. (sorry if you are offended.))

Something called research. Google "what's rpg maker" and maybe look at the stuff that Rinnegatamante posted
Instead of not answering his question...ANSWER HIS QUESTION!!!

RPG Maker is a tool on pc which allows you to make rpg maker games by just placing stuff down.
Somebodys trying to port EasyRPG player to 3ds so we can play RPG maker games on our 3ds's.

I know you said you didn't want to code but you could always look into Lua. It's a super easy programming language and someone is porting the LÖVE API to 3DS, which lets you make 2D games quite easily. Alternatively I'm pretty sure Rinnegatamante is developing another 2D game engine for Lua, and a 3D one as well.

Instead of not answering his question...ANSWER HIS QUESTION!!!

Do you have a link to the project? That sounds awesome.

It also exists natively for like... gb, gbc, gba, ds, and almost every other handheld system.

Just search RPG Maker for it.

And i cant link to the port of easyrpg. Even if i search RPG Maker i would prob get downgrade shit that has NOTHING to do with RPG Maker.

What is this thread. Also, just look into lovepotion. Lua is really simple and it's going to get you farther than drag-n-drop will ever get you.

Edit:
Even better, create one yourself. Lua-cpp is really capable and so is lovepotion, look at the multitudes of homebrew created with it.

I have.

The thing is you have to convert Basic Lua into Confusing 3DS Lua shit...

So even if i did learn lua i would have to learn the 3ds version of lua!

There is no 3ds version of lua, it's all lua. The differences is the capabilities, not everything is implemented yet, and lovepotion is still early.

Well....

I'm to impatient to learn lua.

I even tried once but i couldn't find any tutorials what so ever.

It starts with.

print ("Hello World!")

and then it goes to C# shit.

Strangely enough you can already program with lua either by using lpp or lovepotion. It is one of the simpler scripting languages so you might just want to try programming yourself.

So would good documentation for the existing lua engines fix this?

Sure, as long as it would treat me like a 4 year old.

It never goes to "C# shit", it doesn't even come close to it's syntax. Even searching "lua tutorials" brings up multitudes of tutorials.

There is already good documentation for existing lua engines, he just can't find it apparently.

Lua-users wiki
Love wiki
LPP docs

If your only intent is to start arguments, why did you even bother creating a thread. Nothing in his reply ever downplayed you.
