Update first and then install tiramisu.

would that break games Ive installed from my personal collection that have icons or that shoud be in tact?
cani. Just launch mocha on old fw, put splatoon 1 disc in and play online without updating ?

let’s say its 5.5.1 or 5.5.3

Sorry 5.5.5 OTA worked and haxchi and home brew launcher do too. Good to go

I’m lazy and just wanna play some splatoon

I’ll check out tiramisu another time I suppose

I have some mocha cfw when I got a Wii U a few years ago

can I still play online on whatever version it’s on or do I have to update the os? I wanna play splatoon 1
You should check which system menu version your consoles has, latest is 5.5.5, and yeah you can play online even without having the system updated, you just need an app called nuspatcher which iirc the wiiu plugin system had a plugin that applied those patches... however you can update safely and everything will still work out then do what baamalex said

Sad to say this: but tiramisu did not work to block the updates. my wiiu got updated automatically, even when tiramisu was installed

Tiramisu will Block updates only if you're cooldboting it afaik, however this update won't change pretty much nothing

I have a problem that only started today. For some reason I can't boot into the homebrew launcher. Whenever I start MiiMaker it just shows the MiiMaker logo and then freezes. Have tried redowmloading the tiramisu files have tried a different sd card ect with zero luck. Weird thing is it was working fine yesterday but not today. Also everything else seems to be working fine.

Try replacing the hbl file in modules of the sd card.

I think you (as me) got the system updated to 5.5.6U and Tiramisu booting was disabled,

I am waiting for some confirmation to know if it is safe to reinstall Tiramisu in 5.5.6U

OK all working now. For some reason the icon.png in ppsspp had corrupted itself. Deleting it fixed my issue. Lesson to self next time when trying a different sd card only copy the bare minimum over not the full card lol.
I had deleted my update folder just as a precaution with tiramisu quite a while ago, and I recreated it last night to update, but the privileges didn't seem to work, so it error'd immediately when updating. I ended up adding privileges using another method, and then it worked.

Hold x while booting health and safety to re-enable autoboot.
is it safe to coldboot tiramisu in 5.5.6U ?

The hack still works loading ⚠ Health & Safety and returning to menu,
and enviroment loader works holding X

but as far as I know the user's menu had improvements in this new firmware. Is coldboot Tiramisu still compatible with it?

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

    but that's a long shot

i think only the red mario kart edition phat was v5

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
