When i use the Grass Seeder, the next day the seeded grass is gone and it's back to before..

Because the seeder covers the entire town in grass, and the game has been programmed to have permanent "dirt patches" around the town. All the grass seeder does is repair trampled grass into its former version.

Start a PWP with Isabell, place it somewhere (anywhere) so it's roped off, go inside town hall, delete the PWP you started with Isabell through the builder/seeder

But if that doesn't work you probably have the max number of PWPs.
I'm not sure I understand. How does that resolve it? Should I do that before the house disappears or after?

Is it possible to remove "permanent dirt patches" then?

Okay, when some people use the PWP QR hack they find that the pwps they create become invisible as soon as they inject them into their games. To solve this you must either build a new pwp or follow the method above.

This glitch also applies to any building/pwp being built into your town, including villagers. Just do the above and your invisible villager will turn up.

Does anybody know why I have to do this every time

Well not every time... it depends on what you're trying to build.

If you're adding numerous pwps at once then it should only be used at the very end of your "pwp-placing" session.

If someone knew why this happens then there would most likely exist a solution to avoid it occurring. I guess it's either put up with using the fix every time you build or just don't hack your game lol

Hmm, okay. I'll give it a go. Thanks. So just to clarify, I place the PWP I want, if Coco's house disappears I place any project with Isabelle then immediately cancel donations for it?
Is this a bug that will ever be fixed without the work around, also? Like, as the hacks are expanded.

Nothing should really be disappearing. The glitch only occurs when a new building is introduced into your town, and when that happens it's instantly invisible right off the bat.
Your existing villagers shouldn't disappear. When one moves in (you may see a moving-in plot) then that's when the villager will fail to appear in your town.

But yeah, performing the actions above should fix whatever building glitch you're having. It's not a bug, just an unexplored region of the game. Odds are that someone will find out why and how it occurs and issue a method of fix for it. Just bear in mind that we're literally at the start of the ACNL hacking phase, there's still an enormous part of the game which has been undiscovered.

Well, the PWP is never invisible, it's inexplicably Coco's house. She's no longer present on the map, or in the little pull out menu. But her house still blocks you when you try to walk over where it was.

Try the pwp method and then check back in

Can we request codes? If so I would like one that removes mole crickets entirely, or at least removes the audio file of their noise. They are very annoying!

I've been trying to edit my map with the MapEditor that was uploaded a while ago, but every time I save & quit, when re-loading the game, my game crashes (And I have to use ABXY to reset my save file).

Any idea what's wrong with my town layout? Is it the neighbor houses? (I moved them around the water, and they don't overlap with any other houses...

The houses and buildings aren't visible on the map, but you can still see items and other things.

I know the houses aren't visible I calculated the houses coordinates and placed them on the top left corner, without overlapping.I moved stuff so that it wouldn't overlap, and removed all trees and rocks so that nothing would overlap. The file crashes when loading...

Removing all the rocks and trees isn't really a smart idea, because you could do it manually. If you don't save after ijecting you can walk through the buildings that you moved and remove the trees that are inside/too close.

That's really no big deal, I have a ton of plants on my storage thingie so I can re-plant everything manually.
I know you can have a save file without rocks, and I could re-add them manually. I'm mostly interested right now in having the town map layout modified, as that's the one thing I can't do in-game. :P

@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves

why the shit does the shitbox randomly insert newlines in my messages

It does that when I edit a post.

It inserts a newline in a random spot.

do y'all think having an sd card that has a write speed of 700kb/s is a bad idea?

  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@Karma177 that sd card is 100% faulty so yes, its a bad idea
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the slowest non-sdhc sd cards are a few MB/s
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
@The Real Jdbye it hasn't given me any error trying to write things on it so I don't really think it's faulty (pasted 40/50gb+ folders and no write errors)
