Hacking rehacking my Wii- noon here

A friend hacked my Wii for me a couple of years back. The external hard drive has since been damaged and I can't get Wii backups to run right. In a previous thread, it was suggested to me that I rehack the whole darn thing to make sure that I'm up to date. My concern is that I may brick by undoing something. Could you guys please point me to a tutorial? As always thanks a lot!

I tried the html guide, but when I tried to download the syscheck it just kept on skipping me to the glossary.

Expect many half baked and mildly retarded replies like this.

Ok I figured all of that dumb shit out. Sorry. Where I'm at now is trying to run the syscheck to move forward. I have to do it through the homebrew channel, which I have not installed. I'm worried because I do not want to deviate from this guide at all.

The HBC should be the first thing you install. Then run BootMii and back up your NAND.
