Hacking Re-doing the flash cart sticky.

I was pretty sure that YWG gave them a version of Wood to get them started, but that they had to rely on themselves from now on.

It's still an official Wood that YWG considers, you know, official, not just some ripoff.

This is what I've gotten done.

• The M3i Zero isn't there because it didn't get enough votes, and people don't like the lack of support and how the team still hasn't fixed long-standing issues with it. Though the Acekard 2.1 and CycloDS Evolution don't have many votes either, they are a lesser variant of the major cart (with almost all the same features), so they got in as a sub-section of their bigger brother.
  
• I don't know if the R4i Gold or R4i DSN have updateable bootloaders... people told me they did, but then when an update came out owners needed to buy a new cart from what I saw. Could anybody confirm if their bootloaders can be updated or not?
  
• The Acekard 2i has moved to a "no" for Auto AP Bypass because that refers to the "clean mode" and "special mode" of some carts, which is something separate from AAP.
  
• I don't know if the iSmart MM has a form of AP bypass like "clean mode" or whatever.

I sortof actually suggest putting EX4i on there
The team like actually updates their cart, it runs on the 3ds, has gba compatibillity, only like 28 bucks.
Its actually a really good card.
THough it sucks that it didnt get most votes, the DStwo is better then EX4. but EX4 really is a good card even though it doesnt have a "Clean Mode" type of thing.

> What's with the 'Battery Life' - I'm guessing you mean it has either Good/Bad battery life, in which case the DSTwo battery life is dependant on WHAT you are actually running - (Emulators: Bad / [NDS] Homebrew: Good / Commercial game: Average - I've been doing a few 'flashcard battery tests' for a future thread)

Both of those seem a little unclear to me

The iSmart MM and iEvo both have slowmotion and the iSmart MM is using practically the same stuff that the DSTWO uses (thus there is patch and clean mode for it as well...).
Pretty much the iSmartMM's should look exactly the same as the DSTWO's list...but it's like $3 cheaper xD...not that $3 is a big difference.
I kind of feel like the iSmart Premium should go on there as well...like the iSmartMM to the DSTWO, the iSmart Premium has the same stuff as the EZVi pretty much...though it's $16 IIRC.

That is a good idea, people might think "iSmart" and go for the cheaper premium not realizing that only the MM has some extra stuff, so listing both will confirm there is a difference.

The R4i Gold appears to offer the 3DS bootloader update on their site, but on the R4iDSN site I couldn't find anything of the sort, only ads for their 2.0 version with 3DS support... so I take that to mean the R4i Gold is a Y and the R4iDSN is an N in that column.

Obtainable, yes...Though you wouldn't need to get RetroGameFan's updates if you didn't have a flashcart that was dead and/or dying.

Considering those are generally something people turn to when their team abandons them and teams that make DSTT carts are sometimes unscrupulous enough to release RGF's work as their own (you should have seen people in that thread, whoo boy), it's not something I can recommend.

I don't know about alternative, alternatives often have a lesser chance of continuing than the official kernal if the official team were to drop support, so it'd be part of game updates.

Free cheat would be in the in-game menus (I'll state that different carts support different things).

Autoboot is a frequently-used feature, yeah... I don't suppose you know which carts have it?

Free cheat only applies to 2 flashcarts (and I'm sure you can guess which ones) and aren't available in any of the earlier in-game menus just like slow motion wasn't. I highly doubt that there will be many new flashcarts, or that they will have free cheat...and of course if it hasn't been noticed yet, having slowmotion as a separate column, but not freecheat would seem slightly contradictory in terms of what is placed on the grid versus what gets placed as an annotation.

Anyways, for the autoboot feature, all flashcarts but the EZVi and the iSmart Premium have the ability to autoboot (since all of the other ones use practically the same method to do theirs...and since half are using the Wood kernel...).
