Hi everyone,
I’m currently troubleshooting a PS5 (EDM-010 board) with a 2-sec Blue Light of Death (BLOD), and I’m stuck. I could really use some guidance from the community.
Here is a summary of what I’ve tested and ruled out so far:
Helped by this video : www[dot]youtube[dot]com/watch?v=KBA9Pf1kaak&t=697s. I monitored power-on voltages, and I noticed that one of the GDDR6 coil tries to ramp up (surging past 1.25V momentarily), but the second one stays dead, and the overall rail output never reaches its required 1V. The system cuts power right after this failure.
Has anyone encountered this specific behavior on an EDM-010 ?
Thanks in advance for any advice or pointers!

Here is a summary of what I’ve tested and ruled out so far:
- Symptoms: Powers on, emits a single beep, blue light stays on for about 2 seconds, then shuts down completely.
- Standby Rails: All stable (5V, 3.3V, 2V, 1.15V around the Dialog PMIC RT5126) with no voltage drop before the crash.
- Liquid Metal & Short Circuits: Thoroughly cleaned and checked; no liquid metal spill or short on the APU components. No shorts found on the Southbridge, Wi-Fi/BT module, or the newly replaced HDMI encoder chip.
- Main 12V Rail: No massive short on the main input or the MOSFET input capacitors.
- UART:
