Just got one of these from a friend, I don't really know if it works on the 3DS. According to the box and sticker, it's already been updated for DSi v1.4.4, and the site claims the 1.4.4 update works on the 3DS. The site has two cards for sale, a 3DS version and a DSi version, the latter being the one I now have. I put all the files on an 8GB, FAT32 formatted card, put the card in the R4i, and put the R4i in my 3DS. Nothing happens, there's just a blank icon like no card is inserted. Doesn't fit in the slot like a normal DS game card, I don't know if it's having trouble reading it or if it's just not compatible with the 3DS (which would explain the need for a separate 3DS version, I guess).

If I can't get it to work, it's not a big deal. My AK2i should be here by next week, although it'd be nice to have a card to fall back on. Any help would be appreciated.

But knowing Ms it'll just be windows with pre-installed Gamepass streams
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
ROG Ally already has gamepass w actual pc gameplay from the device, so we'll see.
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Gamepass, Steam, Epic all on 1 handheld would be a dream.
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
    The SteamDeck?
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Steamdeck weak performance anymore, and it doesn't officially support gamepass, have to do workaround to get it.
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
It works okay any high performance portable will be $600+

Latest Switch 2 leak says it will have a LCD, not OLED, run most games 40fps max, and only be 1.5 tflops handheld, 3 tflops docked. That's less than the steamdeck at 1.71 handheld, 3.1 docked.

Switch 2 LCD is about like TN type compare to old Nintendo Switch LCD before. Also games running on 40 FPS look not good for us and people. 60 FPS are best for normal everyday gaming. That's weird. I think should not buy Switch 2 because it like Switch 1.5 something like that. Little improve but not major improve. I think going to skip it.

Yea that's just rumored but not sounding that impressive for a next gen upgrade. Of course Nintendo is very good at optimization of their games to play well, but for a $400+ 2025 console I expected a little better. Even a $299 2020 Xbox Series S has 4 tflops.

I thought it was supposed to be on par with an xbox 1 in power, why is it running most things at 40fps lol
  • Anrei @ Anrei:
in terms of power I thought it was a 2.0 compared to the switch man 40fps sounds whack is there poor optimisation or something?
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Just rumors/ leaks. We will find out in a few weeks. But yea prob way underpowered to save battery, for longer playtimes, like Switch 1 is.
