I randomly bought this R4 several days ago without knowing much about the R4 cart differences. I also bought a 32 GB SanDisk microSD card alongside it. Ive tried to identify/fix this error I keep getting but its lead me nowhere. Im not sure whether its a clone or not but whatever I do I keep getting the "Menu?" screen everytime. I dont know if its cause of my SD card (Which Ive formatted many times) or the kernels Im downloading but I cant get this card to work. If someone could give me a link to the right things to download for this cart or give me any tips then I would be really grateful.

Thanks

I would always get that error when I do not have the proper files in the sd card. Try getting them from http://r4i-sdhc.com/downloade.asp
I searched and there seems to be no website named r4issdhc.com im pretty sure there is only supposed to be one s

I tried downloading the kernels from there but I still get the same error. Do I extract it as a single file or extract it as multiple files? Ive tried both ways but I still get the error :/

I downloaded both
R4i-SDHC 3DS kernel download(with
ico_3DS.gif
mark)

and
R4-SDHC kernel download(without
i25.jpg
mark)

but neither of them work

Sounds like the MicroSD slot is defective or you are using in incompatible file system then. Do you have access to a DS Lite so you can rom dump it? The file name of the kernel it wants to use is in the SRL I believe and from there I can determine what it's actually looking for on MicroSD.

EDIT:

I think I found the correct firmware for you:

R43DSUpgrade_Firmware_ENG.RAR

I used an internet archive site to load an archived page of the original site for your card. It does indeed use an odd kernel file name. Those files above should work for you.

Youre an absolute legend! It worked like a charm and here I thought I would have to get another R4!
The roms work fine aswell! Getting that link seemed like a nightmare, so thanks alot for finding it, I really appreciate it! :yaynds:

Btw what cart do I have and besides this firmware do any other work for it? I'd love to get to update the firmware so I could play on my DSiXL since I keep getting a message saying "An error has occurred.Press and hold the power button to turn the system off." and I have no idea what to do about it :/

i have the same problem and when i download the file you linked its saying not a rar file

I dont really have much to add to your plight, but holy shit i forgot that the R$ throws this screen of a sweaty micro SD card if it can't find the menu. That made me laugh really hard.

I know you just spent money on this card. But if Apache can't help you, you might want to do some research and try a new card.

i just got a 3ds flashcart and im pretty sure its a fake i registers but i cant find the correct firmware it just asks for menu can anyone please help?

First of all, you have download the updated firmware for the flashcart right ? Take this microSD card in the flashcart, format it to FAT32 with a high cluster size (64kb), then paste only the update firmware files in the microSD. Don't overwrite old files. Then try it.
