To downgrade, I used this guide: http://wololo.net/2016/01/04/3ds-system-software-downgrade-tutorial/
Then I attempted to use this guide to install rxTools: https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-installing-rxtools-custom-firmware-3ds-and-2ds.390867/

However, when I attempted to launch homebrew through Ironhax, Ironfall stays on the 3DS loading screen (with the red 90 degree angles) forever when trying to launch. Thankfully, I can just use Menuhax2.1, right? Wrong. Every time I attempt to load it up, it just goes to the home menu screen like normal. Among other screwy things, the Internet Browser method fails and I can't load up Super Smash Bros for 3DS on my SD card without receiving an eternal black screen. How can I fix this? I wouldn't mind losing homebrew at this point if it means I can have a functional 3DS with all my saves and purchases, but I ideally I want to be able to launch rxTools.

Which 3DS are you on? N3DS or O3DS? Personally, when I downgraded my N3DS, it acted perfectly fine. But, when I downgraded my O3DS, it was acting VERY weird when I was setting everything up. Also, ironhax does not work on 9.2, only 9.5+.

You might..have a bad downgrade. Did you use a downgrade checker?

I tried to, but I didn't know how to use SafeSysUpdater, so I just used the original. How screwed am I?

It sounds like a partial downgrade. See if any cartridge game will run other than smash bros. If cartridge games run, you can purchase a retail copy of Shovel Knight for $20, which contains fw 9.8. From there, you can try the downgrade method again until it works properly.

Yeah, Super Mario 3D Land and my R4iDS card loaded fine. I'll look into that then.

And lol, this gives me a good incentive to actually play Shovel Knight.

If you are trying to use ironhax after the downgrade, your problem is that ironfall doesn't works on 9.2

The latest version of smash works only on 9.5+, try to delete the update, when i downgraded my o3ds i had the same problems: cubic ninja stopped working with hax 2.5, menuhax didn't work because i had the 10.3 version installed, i installed the right menuhax with browserhax but it's VERY unstable and it took many tries to boot, but if you manage to install menuhax it should work without any problem.

Well it says it does here...

What exactly do you mean by "delete the update"? Should I try to install another entrypoint, upgrade to 10.3, and then try to downgrade again?

Try and use browserhax. It could be that your payloads aren't 9.2 payloads and only 10.3

I just get a white screen with a slider on it. I tried it twice by scanning this QR code. http://yls8.mtheall.com/3dsbrowserhax.php

Err, how exactly do I go about doing that? Wouldn't my 3DS update if I go to the eShop?

you must zoom on that slider and click on the very right of it

    EDIT: Epic fail

EDIT2 : you can delete the update from the system settings, if smash still doesn't boot there is something wrong with your downgrade

Actually, it's an epic fail on my part. I forgot to actually download browserhax onto my SD! xP

In any case, I tried that, and I just get "An error has occurred. Please save your data in any software currently in uses, and then restart the system." Just like when I tried to install rxTools.

EDIT: I'll try to do the left side after I delete Smash.

EDIT 2: Err, do I delete the downloadable content for Smash or the extra data?

EDIT 3: Yeah, I got an error when clicking the left part of the slider too...

you just need boot.3dsx and the menuhax installer on your sd, if the hax crashes always try to delete the browser data from the settings after about 10/15 attempts i got it working
Deleting smash data won't make the exploit work it's just to be able to boot smash, it should be the biggest of the two

Browserhax works! I'm now in the homebrew launcher!

OK, now that it works, what should I do next to prevent my 3DS to becoming further fucked up? Should I go ahead and download rxTools? Or launch menuhax manager? I really don't want to screw this up, lol.

Menuhax, then with menuhax you setup rxtools and everything
