Hacking Question about updating and Animal Crossing City Folks

I'm currently downloading the iso, and planned to play it with Backup Loader 0.3gamma... I was planning on going out and buying the mic so I can have voice chat and what not, would I need to update for that or not..?


Also, if I already have a save file of AC:CF on my Wii, would I still need to update my Wii? I'm currently using firmware 3.3, the one before the latest update. I think my sister went out to buy the actual game, so yeah...


If I'm forced to update due to any reasons, would I still be able to use the Backup Loader 0.3gamma, be able to use The Homebrew Channel, and still install wads..?

Im thinking of getting wii speak too. I heard theres a channel involved and that you "Might" have to update to use it. Emphasis on MIGHT.

you can just install this wad:

animal_crossing_fix_wad.rar


it'll allow you to boot animal crossing on 3.2 through disc channel without updating, either blocking updates or removing them
