Ok everyone... if you read my first post... I had added some notes from what I learned about preloader so far.... I guess if you have a question read the 1st post I have been trying to edit it when I learn the answers to some common questions...
A summary of what is going on...
- Crediar has been informed of the .dol loading problem and has a fix he is testing with an infectus.
- Preloader has a networking featuring that supposedly does online updates. (When or where does it inform you of an update availiable is unknown at this time)
- I am doing my best to find out when he will release the "fix" for .dol's to autoload from SD card.
I have gotten some .dol's to work myself (FTPii is one..)
Someone asked about the Linux-kernel loading... I believe that is an .elf file which if you try to convert to a .dol you will get an error because it happens to be one of the few .elf files to be compatible with the newer homebrew. (Correct me if I am wrong) I am not sure if the forwarder.dol's are supported yet either... someone may try this... but I doubt it, right now.
So hopefully when a release with the .dol fix is available... the ones that have your Wii connected to the network may get a message for an update. I don't know exactly how that works...
Anyways that's all I really know so far...
About editing the hack.ini file... I am sure we will be able to implemenent some hacks into it...I would think ultra-edit would do the trick?
I just spoke with Crediar and he says the 2 .dols he tried work.. He can not find the problem so...and he would think about adding .elf support to preloader for linux.
Anyone want to help with donations to help fix Crediar's Wii (did the same thing Fors did basically) he is need of some financial assistance... link is

Any help with his Wii's will only make things go faster for preloader.

Crediar says he will improve hacks.ini format so we can use more values per hack instead of one
Also he wants to add dynamic search patches.
It does automatically check for updates when you are in the preloader menu, you can then download and install it through preloader
