I was surprised to get as far as I did with this on #wiidev seeing that marcan and i do not see eye to eye.

To debug the system menu, you need "IDA" but...

I need to install something on my PC, what? and how to connect the Wii System menu to the PC for the debugging? (A wad or FTP ?)

Woah, long time no responses

So, you can flame me if this has been asked already, but I can't catch up to all new posts ...

Is it possible to let preloader boot a Backup Loader that auto boots your discs? It would be nice if the Backup Loader would exit to the system menu if there is no disc inserted or if the disc gives an error.

So has this been asked/made possible already? Or is it not possible?

Ok so I am able to get the following .dols to work with preloader...

FTPii
Softchip
Gamma
Preloaders-Hacks.ini-deleter works

Haven't tried too many others besides Wadmanager and the menu patchers and loader and didnt get it to work properly resulting in code dumps.

As for the "hacks.init" file I have edited mine like just experiementing with it...

I was thinking that because I am running on a systemmenuv289.wad why would I need to have the 290 hack entries? Is correct?! Seems to work fine without them... still some testing needed to be done with though...

Here is what I have edited my hacks.init file to since I am using a ntsc system menu I edited it with just those hacks that I desired to try... Unfortunately I am only able to access the first 7 hacks to toggle between disabled/enabled.. I still am not sure if the last few are enabled because I can not toggle them and also if have not done a NAND dump to check to see if they are actually in the NAND..

But this is pretty much where I am at with preloader... if anyone wants to add suggestions, etc please do so because I am learning just like most of you.

If you are like myself and are interested in seeing what is being stored in the NAND itself by preloader I managed to get a version of FTPii which has a NAND dumper feature. Not quite sure how well it works... I am sure it's beta. and am in the process of testing it myself...

I am dumping my NAND with it now and seems to dump faster than to SD card.

i tried and it failed for me - someone else posted it worked for them

i think it should be sorted soon if not already

I am guessing you don't need the 290 stuff if you are ntsc and the 289 stuff if you are PAL... that is a guess from me though... so don't hold it against me but that is what I am trying to experiment with now is not having all those 290 entries in there if I am running 289... Get me?? I would just think that would be common sense but who knows??

So I can't get this to go any further then the initial screen. Pressing "1 Right A 1 Down Up" has no effect.

Any answers?

new batteries in your wiimote... haha...dude sorry i had to do it... no i dont know man...you are hitting the right sequences...

@buby... I guess so.. it didnt hurt mine that's for sure... hehehe but you can only disable the first 7 and the rest you can't because of the bug in the app.

he says he is working or some stuff... i mentioned in a post before...

@IronMask - dude, i wish you had a PAL Wii to put all that effort into... LOL... all those 289 codes are no good to me...

Great work keeping this project moving though - thank you
