Interesting... You are on NTSC-U in Brazil? Sounds like there are enough of us with "broken" Move Disc Channel hacks that it isn't just me - and I have the same exact code as that. Not like it is that important, but I would like to know how to fix it.

Yeah, NTSC-U is for Latin America, too, even though Nintendo doesn't say that (I think). ;p

I just removed the hacks before updating to 0.28 and re-enabled it after updating, and it worked just fine. :/

If you really want to move the disc channel that badly, there's another way: use Gecko OS. Use the rebooter to go back to the system menu, grab the disc channel with A+B et voila!

Rebooter doesn't work with preloader...

yeah i know

but moving the disc channel isn't something you do all the time. so just booting gecko once isn't a big deal, and the change itself is permanent. So the moved channel will stay in its new place, even after a reboot.

Right. I don't really "need" to move the Disc Channel, I just like things to be working properly, and this is an example of things not working. I did NOT run the Hack Remover prior to upgrading to 0.28 - - only afterwards, so perhaps that is the issue, but everything else "seems" to work although I haven't tested things like Region Free channels or No copy saves. Shouldn't matter when you run Hack Remover that much, right?

Asking again if anyone has run into this problem

After updating to .28, I'm getting this EXACT message when selecting Systemmenu Hacks from preloader:

NTSC 3.2U
Updated from preloader .27 to .28
Used Same hacks.ini as .27

Used Hack Remover from HBC - same message above

Went ahead and installed .27 again - preloader .27 showed hacks fine
Updated again to .28 - same issue with message above

I hope this gets released in non-update form soon. Was all busy moving and didn't get a chance to install 0.27 so now I'll be waiting it out

while on preloader 0.28, why don't you try using the hack.ini remover (remove_preloader_hacks.zip)
then installing a new hack.ini for v0.28...create it using hic_03.zip, which is hack ini creator 0.3 that gives the option for the new preloader 0.28...gl !

I have a NTSC-U Wii and my disc channel moves. Everything is working fine for me, but I have some questions. Ever since I installed preloader V.27 my system hacks settings ONLY had "Move Disc Channel". Now I installed V.28 and it still only has that option. This was only after I did a fresh ARC 3.2U. Before that I had skip system updates and region free games. I do, however, have region free games and skip updates already installed because I haven't had a problem with my PAL games and no updates so far. ALSO, when I installed V.28 it was installing and when it finished the top half of the screen turned green and then the Wii rebooted. Has anyone come across this?

I did Wiiownzz. Green flickers, then full half green then reboot.

Also, I think you got the wrong region hacks.ini. It's 289 for NTSC

Problem solved with following error:

Ran hic_03.zip in virtual machine (thanks for the suggestion, blitzxp) to create hacks.ini

Preloader .28 must be more picky than .27 with CR/LF as I'm using Ubuntu - verified that there was only LF (no CR) in the file.

A workaround to resolve this is to run unix2dos or todos on the hacks.ini file.

Thanks to m-tek, creator of "Hacks.ini Creator"

Sincerely,

Well I really don't need those extra hacks if they are already working right? I know for a fact now that it's working because I just loaded up Deadly Creatures and Tenchu. They don't show any updates at all. I would think they have an update because they came out like a day ago.

I got "Move Disc Channel" working again... I moved the code from the "bottom" of the hacks.ini elsewhere in the file...lol and then ran Hack Remover and re-enabled everything. I haven't done enough testing, but perhaps the last entry doesn't work as it should (no other data to support this yet), or it just needed a kick in the rear! I will test something else tomorrow.

Hi all, I used the Hack.ini Creator 0.3 by m-tek and now I can move the Disc Channel again too.

The hacks.ini file it created is very neat and tidy.

Just run Hack Remover with your old hacks.ini, then copy over the new hacks.ini and reload Preloader 0.28 to enable the settings again...

today i updated preloader, and made another hacks.ini with hic, and i have crazyintro installed, but now my disc channel shows only black and white, i haven't tested it with other channels yet

help!

EDIT: my fault, i disabled force region and it works again

BUG!!! Ok, so now I've had some time to test my theory that the last entry in hacks.ini gets ignored, and so far I have proven it (at least for me). In order to eliminate at least one variable, I ran Hack Remover before exchanging hacks.ini files and Enabling/Disabling anything. Before I had "Move Disc Channel" as the last entry and it did not work, so I tried moving that same entry elsewhere on the file, and low and behold it worked. So today I experimented by putting "No BGM" as the last entry - and sure enough, I heard that familiar sound again! Last, I tried going back to my old, longer hacks.ini - 0.27 version - to test if the new format was messing things up, and I got the same issue with the last entry in hacks.ini not working. This may explain why only certain people couldn't move their Disc Channel - those with it as their last entry. And perhaps the ones with it working had something else that was not as easily noticeable (like Nocopy save protection) as their last entries and thus, haven't suspected anything was amiss. Hopefully its not just me and this can be addressed in the next version!

First, big Thanks for this new release!

But I encountered these bugs so far (on PAL 3.2E, cIOScorp, PreLoader 0.28, CrazyIntro):

- if I enable "Force Disc Region" none of my games will load, neither originals nor backups. My Wii just freezes (no signal on TV), Wii-Motes disconnect and I've got to hold On/Off on the console to turn it off.

- Standby won't work unless I disable the "Ignore Standby Mode"-Hack, but even then it's buggy: the inserted disc will keep spinning (though slow) and I get a corrupted signal on my TV (some noisy black/white dots/lines).
