I'm surprised you noticed that, not a lot of people do

Grimalkin = Witches Cat.

Chrono Trigger was one of the best RPG´s i´ve ever played! Chrono Cross was no match!
It´s sad that the Fan-Production for CT in 3D were canceled!

Back to the topic! (Sorry for the spam!)
Who will now become the successor of rayder?

Hi, Rayder specifically PMed me and passed to torch to me. Unfortunately, I accidentally hit Delete post so I don't have a reference to the PM. But if you ask him, he'll say the same thing.

No thanks for the Cheat files... I thought you were a Homebrew programmer.

I don't cheat so.. Yeah.

Not a problem, it's unfortunate that Rayder had to stop. I added a link to my signature to the most updated dat. And it will be the last update until I can get permission or at least a source for the codes.

Thanks for starting a changelog, it'll help a lot.
And, if you feel like it, can you type a small post with a summary of the changes you made?

Just wanted to officiate that I did pass the job to Grimalkin. He seems to have what it takes to continue the project. I don't have the patience to wait around for approval from hackers to have their codes in a dat. I'm a down-and-dirty type of person who doesn't like to waste time with things I don't consider important. I work fast in everything I do, I have no patience and putting credits to the hackers for each and every code doesn't make the codes work any better and just slows me down. That's why I never wasted my time putting credits to every code.

It's just like commercials in a TV program.....just because it's important to the sponsors, doesn't mean it's important to me. That may sound cold, but it's the truth. I don't watch the credits at the end of a movie either......not important to me, doesn't matter.

Personally, I'm going to continue to update MY dat MY way, for myself. It just won't be downloadable anymore. Adding credits to every code is going to be a monumental task and will bloat the dat unnecessarily. Good luck with that. Keep in mind that many of the games have codes by multiple sources....more bloat. Also keep in mind that the R4 team credited NO ONE for anything and their codes are the base of the dat. Good luck figuring out where those codes came from. Carefully notice that I never even credited myself when I updated the dat.

The majority of codes came from CodeJunkies and Kodewerx, but other sites (listed in the txt) were occasionally used too.

I am NOT going to divulge who complained, to anyone, not in a PM and not publicly. Receiving complaints and threats was MY problem and I don't want to incite a riot against any of the hackers on my behalf.

A few people have requested my e-mail address.....er....no. I figure those are just people wanting me to give them special links to any future updates......not gonna happen.

Sorry if I sound pissed. I am. I was doing this for fun and to have something to do, not to endure complaints and threats. I wasn't making any money doing it. I wasn't doing it for notoriety or fame. I wasn't doing it out of malice to the hackers or to "steal" their codes. It was just for fun. When the fun stops, so do I, and the fun stopped quite a while ago. I hung on as long as I could tolerate. But now I'm done.

Ah yes, sounds sad that you had to tolerate all that crap. I've already sourced ALL of the R4 dev team's un-referenced code

Now onto the others. I have a feeling a "certain website" won't allow me to add their codes so I've already replaced them (well, the ones I could find anyway, it's going to take some time finding every single code source but I've already gone through 120+ games).

There isn't a huge impact to the previous listed codes, but some really REALLY redundant codes have been removed.

I can kind of understand the code hackers being upset, but this is really shitty overall, credit should be limited to the text file instead of blowing up the dat... :'(

Thank you for everything Rayder.

It's crazy the Hackers are getting so pissed, is it such 'important' code that it means so much to them, I understand it takes time and patience to create these codes, but why do they do it? just so they can? then what?

It's things like this that really bugs me about certain on the net (or maybe just in life in general) It doesn't help anyone and those that to help (with their own time get shat on) It lets the community down in a whole...

To ask for credit on every code is nuts (who's got the time for that) Fair enough they deserve some credit and thanks. I think giving them credit in the ReadMe is fair to both sides.

Sorry to hear this Rayder, it's sad and unfortunate it's come to this although I completely understand your decision. I and I'm sure many others really appreciated the time, effort and energy you contributed to make these cheat.dat's so thanks so much for that.

Maybe in due time you may feel differently but if not thanks again for everything and don't let the ba$tards grind you down.

Good luck and cheers
