Just wanted to officiate that I did pass the job to Grimalkin. He seems to have what it takes to continue the project. I don't have the patience to wait around for approval from hackers to have their codes in a dat. I'm a down-and-dirty type of person who doesn't like to waste time with things I don't consider important. I work fast in everything I do, I have no patience and putting credits to the hackers for each and every code doesn't make the codes work any better and just slows me down. That's why I never wasted my time putting credits to every code.
It's just like commercials in a TV program.....just because it's important to the sponsors, doesn't mean it's important to me. That may sound cold, but it's the truth. I don't watch the credits at the end of a movie either......not important to me, doesn't matter.
Personally, I'm going to continue to update MY dat MY way, for myself. It just won't be downloadable anymore. Adding credits to every code is going to be a monumental task and will bloat the dat unnecessarily. Good luck with that. Keep in mind that many of the games have codes by multiple sources....more bloat. Also keep in mind that the R4 team credited NO ONE for anything and their codes are the base of the dat. Good luck figuring out where those codes came from. Carefully notice that I never even credited myself when I updated the dat.
The majority of codes came from CodeJunkies and Kodewerx, but other sites (listed in the txt) were occasionally used too.
I am NOT going to divulge who complained, to anyone, not in a PM and not publicly. Receiving complaints and threats was MY problem and I don't want to incite a riot against any of the hackers on my behalf.
A few people have requested my e-mail address.....er....no. I figure those are just people wanting me to give them special links to any future updates......not gonna happen.
Sorry if I sound pissed. I am. I was doing this for fun and to have something to do, not to endure complaints and threats. I wasn't making any money doing it. I wasn't doing it for notoriety or fame. I wasn't doing it out of malice to the hackers or to "steal" their codes. It was just for fun. When the fun stops, so do I, and the fun stopped quite a while ago. I hung on as long as I could tolerate. But now I'm done.
