ROM Hack Possible to convert MH4G patch for MH4U?

I have a CIA patch file for MH4G that I'd like to use with MH4U (US version to be specific).

I ask this because transferring a savedata between MH4G and MH4U back and forth messes up the savedata somehow.

I thought about changing the uniqueID of the file to the one for MH4U, but that apparently requires the file to be in a .3ds format, and I have not been successful in doing so.

Is it even possible to convert a CIA patch for games of different region? I was curious since a lot of things are interchangeable between MH4G and MH4U.
