ROM Hack Possible HG/SS fix for CycloDS users?

40 Euros? Isn't that like 60 bucks? I can find an Acekard 2i for like $25 at a reputable reseller and have it arrive within a few days, or find it on Dealextreme for cheaper and get it in maybe 2 weeks.

Then do not buy one. buy the game support a developer. Deal with the fact you bought a product based on reverse engineered code and your particular maker gave up. I am sure you got the $20 american back that you spent on it. Don't like the $40 dollar price tag on the cyclo? Don't buy it, buy an acekard or m3 or what ever. Just stop complaining that any version of any DS flash card doesn't work. Just be thankful we even have these options. What would you do if the DS had never been cracked in the first place?

Almost? i have not heard any reports of freezing on the cyclo.

The single freeze report was with the previous beta, which had more or less the same situation as AKAIO (no badge equation freezes but a random one here and there), I haven't even experienced one myself and I haven't updated.

There is truth in the fact you can get a good flashcart for around 20-25$ now, and that if yours is obsolete you should just get a new one. Think about it.

Assuming you paid your first flashcart 40$, and you, since acquiring it, downloaded... let's say 50 games. That's how many I have right now, anyway. Now, let's not consider most of those you probably thought sucked and didn't play again; let's consider those are games you would have BOUGHT if you didn't have a flashcart.

You saved 1960$ in games, provided each game was worth 40$.

A 40$ product saved you 1960$. Think about it.

Will it really hurt you to fork over another 40$ to get a CycloDS or an Acekard that will no doubt save you another 1960$ in the long run?

Do think about it.

I'm not saying "everyone needs to throw their R4s out the window," but I'm saying "it can't hurt to move on to a newer, more supported card" because it's a pretty solid deal. And it means you won't have to wait as long as everyone else to play heavily AP-protected games, which will become more and more common.

You know what you're right. Fuck this bullshit. I'm just gonna get a CycloDS, all this bullshit isn't worth the time, CycloDS has clearly shown that they're the most competent flashers out there, so it's time to give them some props for that.

Indeed, I am seriously considering switching now.

Because most of the newer games I've come across have AP on it, some don't have much but even that beats the R4 unless the game gets patched.
And he's right, AP will come a lot more now, probably heavier encrypted, and I bet there's still a good 3 years in the DS of it been new, and then a couple extra where it's still pretty good, so the money to buy a new card is worth it.

No reason to diss the R4, back in it's day it was simply one of/or was the best in the Flashcart field, it'll be a shame to ditch mine

The 1.57 and 1.58b1 firmware have occasional freezing like most other cards. 1.58b2, which was released today, supposedly fixes the freezing entirely.

From what I've understood it was not like R4 and the like but more like AKAIO. At least 1.58b1. Don't know about 1.57
