Homebrew Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness Ocarina GBA trade help

Okay so there is a cheatcode where you can make your Pokemon Shiny and I want to trade into my Sapphire. Thing is the Pokemon don't stay shiny after I save. If I trade while the cheatcode is on will the XD save file and Sapphire Save file will mess up? Or will something else with mess up? Is it safe?

I'd be wary of anything to do with a shiny cheat. I did trade once, while keeping the code active, and it turned all my Pokemon into female bayleef's.
