It's NOT the ROM. Like I said in my first fucking post, I used the SAME ROM to load a separate .sav file, and it worked. Had it not worked, it would have been the ROM, but it did work.
Well, I wouldn't claim that it isn't the ROM still...counter idea to it not being the ROM. Suppose for instance that the grass is game dependant, thus is kept in the saved file (I would suspect that is the case). Now consider for instance that it isn't the entire ROM that is broken, but a small portion that creates the grass for saves is removed or addled in some way. This being the case, it could be possible to have someone else's save that works, as the data for where the grass must be is recorded in the save file and thus the game just needs to place the grass there and a different part of the game worries about the encounters and suchlike that happens on any of those types of grass tiles. So now with an idea that the patch might have done something, it is possible that any save created by the patched ROM will not be able to have the grass tiles as the section in the ROM that generates the placement of said tiles is broken, but the ability for said tile to appear and work still remains.
In any case, that is just some random speculation that I came up with, since it was a flaw in your logic (philosophy is driving me mad). Btw, just because
Nintendo is stupid in some aspects doesn't mean they would create such a flawed system in which just because the grass doesn't appear means that the grass wouldn't have an encounter rate. For a more sensible example, just because a person doesn't have a lawn of grass doesn't refute the fact that any lawn of grass will eventually have bugs living there (provided it isn't some artificial stuff).
Worst comes to worst, blame it on your save file because that is probably unfix-able unless someone has an editor for it somewhere (and I'm willing to bet it is because of your save file).
Well, that was pointless to read. Have you ever even played Pokemon? lol
It's not the patch, it's not the ROM, it could be the save... but I don't see why the save would have anything to do with rendering grass patches viewable within a game? If there's a switch... more freakin' power to them, but where the hell is the switch lol I got Pokemon I need to capture
Defending Nintendo's intellegence? Wow... you're not even a hacker qualified to give information then... lol
So you call this coding, done by Nintendo, intellegent:
Just have a little look...
The video of course referring to a coding error that's in Pokemon White/Black (japanese) as we speak... it's a double battle error. (solve-able if you're not a complete retard like the kid in the video, you simply choose the first pokemon in the party (fainted) and goto switch, then pick the pokemon that's alive...)
Oh no, Nintendo would never fuck up and not add in a flag to activate a MAIN spot in a game would they
Oh wait yes they would ... example 2 >.>
