I have this problem too when I start YSMenu.
I start YSMenu with multimedia button though, and normally use R4 firmware.
Anyway, about the cheat problem:
Just make sure that you don't have a CHEAT.DAT in your system folder (of R4 firmware)!
Then YSMenu will show you all cheats it can read.
Also, if your cheat file is too long with R4 cards, they can't read the bottom part.

I am finding it hard to understand.
So the FAQ says that pokemon you find in the wild will have their JAPANESE name, but you can change it at the name-rater's house? Is that it?
Because you kind of need to know the pokemon's name before it is sent out to adjust your pokemon accordingly, right? Or did I misinterpret it entirely?

All pokemon i encounter have their english name

I found this name problem ith othe twins north of the Sudowoodo. The name is weird.

When i try to add AR codes to the game I tried both the (U) and (J) version of cheats and nothing is showing up, here are the ID i used for the games:

Pokemon: SoulSilver (U)/(AU)
IPGE 2D5118CA

Pokemon Soul Silver (J)
IPGJ 7387AC7F

i used Cheat Code Editor i got from R4DS.com/R4li.com

I'm having trouble with this patch. I followed the instructions and ended up getting a soulsilver_patched.nds file but it is 0kb. is it because of the rom i used? cause its the japanese one. do i need to use an unpatched rom or something? (not really sure where i can find one either)

^try waiting a few minutes first. most likely. yes you need an unpatched rom. use GOOGLE

i sure hope the next version comes by noon tommorow, because betwen then and around 6 PM i will be in a car driving to big bear

I've noticed a few minor things which aren't translated such as when your Pokemon falls asleep and when you go to the Pokedex.

Minor as I said, but still in Japanese.

You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)

I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!

    I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
