very few things make me want to take a step out of my lurking shadow, but I gotta say this hack is an amazing one, Drayano.
I've been wondering if this version allows access to Global Link or general Ninty wifi features?
Yes it works just fine with everything official. Keep in mind that on WiFi, using 95% of the Pokemon will be seen as not-legit. The reason being that in this mod/hack, Pokemon are found in different locations. Also the addition of new moves not seen in the official GameFreak release, etc will trigger a "hacked" error. Thus the data for the Pokemon may not "look" legit to the server... but I think all it will do is not let you "record" a battle... I think.
You can fix this of course with a legality checker and PokeSav/PokeGen. Just takes patience.

Check this spoiler. Or... you could always look in the patching files you downloaded, in the folder called "Documentation" there is a list of all the locations for every Pokemon in the file "wild pokemon.rtf" - The list is very large so I'm hiding it in this spoiler...
Wild Pokémon
Recall that no rare spots (ie grass shaking, water spots) will appear until after the first badge has been obtained!
'Special' refers to the rare spots. Doubles refers to tall grass where double battles can occur.
Unless otherwise stated, fishing encounters have not been edited.

Okay, most likely case it won't be this week now. I've just figured out something else interesting... It's probably gonna take me a while before I finish everything I want to.

This next one will be a lot more 'complete', so to speak. I'm looking to mess with items to an extent as well now, not to mention debating whether to have a "Regular" and a Clean version or to just go for one version. But if I do that, where do I draw the line..? Are type changes too much? Base stats? Movepools? Abilities? Anything?

Decisions, decisions. I appreciate any input!

P.S: I notice Light Black is doing some interesting stuff with the Gym Leaders, which I'm actually quite happy about. Means BB/VW and Light Black won't be so similar. There's only so many things you can do with a 649 hack, after all.

Hm. I'd say just got with one version. Legendary.
Renaming some of the items so they don't have completely stupid names would be pretty cool. The item finder for example has a completely stupid name.

I'll be beginning construction on my story for Black Onyx tomorrow. Still have a bit more planning to do. I'm basically waiting on a wild encounter editor to be released lol - Hex... is just not my thing. (I'm dyslexic... it's hard as hell to read Hex, correctly)

The only thing they should be doing with the Gym Leaders is adding in previous Gym Leaders as the trainers in the Gym :/ (Well... that's what I'd do...)

I probably won't do that much text editing but eh. I'll see about it.

You're making a new story? =o Interesting. I'll have to try that out whenever you finish.

Hexademical must be hell with dyslexia. I know next to nothing about it truth be told but I think I understand what you mean.

By "story" do you mean you'll edit simply edit texts or add new events?

I thoroughly enjoy type, stat and move editing it creates cool things like snorlax with slack off and ambipom with a fighting subtype

Well, I've actually been working on a PC game for the last 4 years but with limited tools and lack of knowing the Ruby language better... I decided to just hack B/W. The features I was wanting to add in were actually included in B/W (Triples, various moves, better typings)
Once I figure out what to do about spriting the other ... 70% of the custom dex we (PyRo and I) were using, I was gonna overwrite most of the 3rd or 4th gen with them (4th gen had too many shitty Pokemon anyway, who cares).
The story... just needs to be changed. I for one am tired of the same freakin' story in every game...
There's still a few things I need to figure out before I can start on most of the work.
Plus with moving Pokemon sprites this gen, I really don't think I'll be able to get our customs in there.
Ironically, our games titles were Black Onyx and White Onyx. (Keep in mind this was 4 years ago, far before B/W were thought of.) -(YouTube has some of our previews) But we've recently got really busy and stopped progress as 99% of our staff quit or just vanished.

The dyslexia makes me read everything backwards first, and then forward... It's odd but it lets me read faster sometimes. Numbers however... are my weakness.

Please don't lower the levels in the next update. It's the main reason why I like this hack more than Light Black, it's actually challenging

In Light Black, I was always overleveled even though I never grind thanks to the Lucky Egg, and even when I didn't use it my 6 Pokemon team is still overleveled. In this hack I was never overleveled even with the Lucky Egg

Be careful when including Double and Triple Battles, as trainers who have them freeze the game if they see you before you talk to them. It happened in Light Black

I will do all the beta testing far before I even release it to the public. It won't be like, pure Doubles/Triples lol I'd like that cause singles really isn't that challenging, but yeah. The lack of many Doubles/Triples in B/W pretty much ruined the battles in general. I do plan on having at least 1 doubles and 1 triples involved in either the Gyms or E4.

Anywho, I prolly shouldn't have posted any of this here :wtf: sorry Drayano. Back on topic lol

I'm curious what this new find is Drayano

I'll be patient though.

EDIT: Anyone know where I can get a list of the narc files contents? Like which files are what... and which narc locations are for whatever.

I don't personally mind a little discussion, haha. That is pretty interesting actually; I've never tried going outside of these change-value edits... yet. I should probably try my hand at programming languages in general or something. I only know a little VB6 and considering I'm doing Computer Science at uni I really need to pick up something else :x

Back to front, eh? That's an interesting effect actually, but yeah I could see how that'd make it difficult. So like, "6532" would appear as "2356" to you initially, right?

---

Yeah, I've decided I'm gonna keep the levels the same. Especially since I've now figured out how to get Juniper to give you six Lucky Eggs instead of just one!

The last find I mentioned was that I managed to figure out how to get evolution items like the Up-Grade, Magmarizer etcetera to mimic evolution stones so you can just use them on a Pokémon to evolve them. The downside is that I don't know how to maintain effects (and I don't think there's any such thing as an item that can be used and has an effect, berries aside) so it's kinda bad for the Metal Coat and such, but it's mostly the DeepSeaTooth/Scale I'm worried about. Poor Clamperl ;-;

Progress is going well anyway. I just finished remodeling the wild list... except that I just realised I might be able to give the player the Super Rod close to the beginning of the game, which means I'll actually have to edit the fishing locations. It'll certainly help with the complete lack of Water-types in the earlier bits of the game though.

There's Audino pretty much everywhere now, so it shouldn't be hard to train at any point in the game (if you even need to).

I swear I saw a list somewhere, but I can't remember now >>; I'll give you what I know:

a/0/1/6 - Pokémon Data
a/0/1/8 - Level Up Moves
a/0/1/9 - Evolutionary Data
a/0/2/1 - Attack Data
a/0/2/4 - Item Data
a/0/5/7 - Scripts
a/0/9/2 - Trainer Information
a/0/9/3 - Trainer Pokemon
a/1/2/6 - Wild Pokemon

Yeah that's how I would read numbers. I've basically had to memorize multiplication tables in my head to comprehend them backwards.
Actually since they reversed the hex values this gen. I might be able to just do them like normal lmao

I was using RPGMXP for the game. Well, it wasn't just me, actually the creator is my friend PyRo - I learned Ruby to help with the game. Sadly our staff vanished and we let the site go down for the time being. It was a bit hell to program most of the features (I miss the customizable PokiPod lol)and the only reason I want to just say screw it and port it to the DS is simple really. 90% of the scripts we want are already there, new Pokemon of course... but. We're possibly not going to port as we want custom mapping and until a mapper is made, that halts what I want to do. I'll prolly just make the parody, unless I can convince PyRo to let me continue with the mod.

Clampearl: Could ditch the trade evo thing and go for either split-gender evo's or split-level up with appropriate hold item evo's. Could even take a far different approach and make it season based? Making good use of the seasons. Hell, even a Ninjask-type deal. Hitmon-style. Day/Night style. If possible to code it in, Land/Water evo would be amazing

If you can code in a vs seeker that would be awesome.

I'm using the AR Code for rematches.. it's more fun than grinding on wild pokes.

Drayano, this is the best game ever. Keep up the good work, looking forward to what you do next. And as far as doing just one version i have to say Legendary would be the one i'd go with. I'm so glad i found this hack cuz i was getting bored with the regular versions.

While this hack seemed a bit too annoyingly hard at first (even though the selection of derps for the first gym is amazing), I think that beating the second gym leader whose names escapes me at the moment after the third try felt pretty nice. Whatever, bloggers gonna blog.

What I wanted to say is that you've done (and most likely will keep doing) a great job, and that I'm looking forward to this next version before resuming my attempt of beating it with a mono Steel team. I'll need luck, yeah.
I suggest you keep all the type, ability and stat modifications, by the way - this makes the game a great "what if?" party for all those things we wished that GF put in, like Iron Fist Metagross and so on, which is is a nice way of making the hack a bit more interesting.

As for the evolution items - why not just make them work like Razor Claw and nearly all gems areworking in the hack at the moment? As in, you give your Porygon an Up-Grade, it levels up, it evolves.

And finally, for the wild locations - the only thing that annoyed me was how I spent about 4 hours looking for a Piplup on Route 3 after being showered with all other Water starters. Hell. Wouldn't putting all of them in a certain route somewhere not be better? That would also solve the current problem involving all starter types being too far apart from each other.

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.
