I can't remember where it's at, but wasn't there a list of names that Nintendo copyrighted for the future?

I wouldn't mind if they kept the HMs, but they should allow pokemon more than four attacks, so that we can have the HMs on our good pokemon without sacrificing moves. The pokemon in the show have access to their entire movelist, the pokemon in the games should be allowed to also.deathking said:get rid of cut and other hms
i hate having to keep a crapy pokemon around just to break rocks or get rid of plants and move around the game

Cool, then we can take minutes to browse through the entire movelist just to find the move we want.kirlac said:but they should allow pokemon more than four attacks, so that we can have the HMs on our good pokemon without sacrificing moves. No thanks.

Well maybe not the ENTIRE movelist then, but there should still be more than four move slots available.Raika said:Cool, then we can take minutes to browse through the entire movelist just to find the move we want.kirlac said:but they should allow pokemon more than four attacks, so that we can have the HMs on our good pokemon without sacrificing moves. Cheaters will cheat regardless, cranking up my attack stat and using Hyper Beam all day long isnt much fun but people do it anyway.CyrusBlue said:NoSmokingBandit said:Oooh, while I'm thinking of it, I've always wanted them to tweak the battle system so the speed stat actually means something more than who goes first. Kinda like in FF7 where the wait meter fills up depending on the speed stat, so if my Pokemon has a speed of 100 and the opponent's is 50, i should be able to attack twice for every one of their attacks.
That would mess up the balance of the game. Everyone with access to it will be using Pokesav (or cheats) to max out their speed resulting in an endless clusterfuck .
We don't need another Marvel vs. Capcom 2.

Taraxanoid said:- Pokemon visible in overworld (no random encounters)
- Battle system far less menu-driven, allowing for actual counter attacks/defense and perhaps the ability to move your active pokemon around the battlefield
- Being able to manipulate the environment in battle to help you out (some moves already do this, but it'd be cool to be able to knock down a nearby tree to daze an opponent or something)
- Overhaul of the levelling/experience system. Making the training process far more organic (and less about grinding); perhaps amounting to "milestones" rather than one hundred levels. Also, I want my pokemon to mature in skill based on ingenuity in battle and not only that, but taking (sometimes silly) risks (of course they'd have to pay off).
- A less linear experience would be nice.
- A legendary pokemon should be legendary. They should be very difficult to find and require the player to really use their head to discover each one. Perhaps even making the locations of legendaries randomised for each game (or more roaming like the 3 dogs etc.)
- Also, go the full 3D for the battles
I'm sure I can think of more but I'm tired.

I say, stop beating a dead horse.
They've beaten the dead horse known as pokemon into a soft squishy mush.
I've seen pokemon fans left and right getting tired of the same old crap. Only the blind, mindless pokefanboys actually like doing the same game over and over.
seriously?
While I agree, the pokemon formula is getting very tedious to long time fans, It still remains extremely popular to newcomers and such.
If anything, pokemon games are gaining fans every release! Even long time gamers like me don't mind playing with the same formula.
I agree that you shouldn't fix what's broken.
So i'm agreeing with everything Taraxanoid suggested. Pokemon needs an overhaul or its going to continue losing its fans.
All they have to do is make the combat not suck and pokemon could be completely revitalized.
