As far as names go they've got quite a list of them in terms of planets.

And if Nintendo had a bit more control over the production of the Pokemon titles, I feel like they would have taken a different road than the same one that's been taken over the years. That's not a bad thing either; I'm not sure why people are so afraid of change. Change is so natural because one of these days, in order to keep the franchise going, they'll have to make a change. New technology will tempt them plus they might be tired of throwing out the same scheme with a few minor changes every time.

My idea is still the best in this thread because it adds to the game while keeping the original formula intact.

Everyone else is trying to turn Pokemon into Final Fantasy or something.

The 5th generation Pokemon game will be a collaboration between Nintendo,Gamefreak and Atlus.

-A social link system similar to the one seen in Persona 4 will be implemented. Make many friends and rivals. Spend time with your Pokemon and strengthen your bond to do better in battle.

-There will be more freedom in this game than any of the previous Pokemon games. This will be a non linear experience. Play however you want. Be a bad guy,be a good guy,be a Pokemon breeder, run a Pokemon daycare, become a gym leader, get a girlfriend, save the world etc etc..the possibilities are endless.

-Multiple endings for even more replay value.

-Mix records with your friends and combine your worlds.

-Buy clothes and accessories. Customize your trainer to fit your style.

-The Wi-Fi Plaza has received a total make over. There are now ten minigames for you to play with people from all over the world but that's not all. You can now exchange friend codes along with Pokemon and conduct battles in the Wi-Fi Plaza arena for all to watch.

buh. Im not looking forward to this. Unless they make some BIG changes to the overall system, pokemon is almost exactly that same as it was 15 years ago.

+1 they have only made minor changes, i would like to see a new battle system in it. An overhaul would be a welcome change.

We get it, you hate Pokemon.

Actually i'm pretty fond of pokemon.
It was very fun playing blue when I was younger.
Wasn't too bad playing gold either, since it felt like something new still.
After skipping all the way to diamond, I had some fun, but got bored quick. It was still incredibly similar to my previous experiences with pokemon.

It NEEDS something new, people cant possibly play the same crap over and over and have it still maintain a good fanbase. Eventually it's going to suffer.

Personally, given the current capabilities of the DS, I think going all 3D would be a huge mistake. The current world they've created is highly detailed, colorful, and full of personality. Most 3D DS games seem to have some trouble excelling in these areas.
If they start changing things, I'd rather have some more role-playing elements, character customization, etc.
Simply put, I don't think the graphics are a problem here.

Disagree. Have you played Dragon Quest Joker? They have 6 specifically animated monsters on the battle field, 7 if you count your leader.

On top of that the whole world is in 3d.

I agree, I love the way Pokemon games look and always have, I can't see going full 3d being a good thing for the franchise. However, the main character seems to get less relate-able with each passing game; some customization might be good, it would certainly make the game more personalized.

i agree with chaz. it needs personal customization to a degree that when u go online u can differentiate the other peoples character (not just by name).
