my old xenon is over heating in this heat wave im having
is there any free short term fix
A fan next to it, if you have a fan.
Overheating can't be "fixed" without "monetary input". Thermal grease, thermal glue or copper shims cost money, y'see.
The best you can do is store the console in a cooler place, make sure that the fans are clean and rotating fine and that there's enough space for the intake/exhaust, and you should be doing that already anyways.
I remember a friend of mine had this old mini fridge that was broken, it only got down to about 60°F so he stored his 360 and his PS3 in there lol.
even just a fan for the room , y'know a big 15 inch fan,
i tryed that
it still 80-85 with the fan on
stick it in the fridge xD
you tried vacuuming the fans out good making sure they spin freely ?
i dust my xbox fans every few week
Set the fans to 100% if you haven't done that already.
Stick some extra fans to the 360 if you haven't done that already.
Xenons are always overheating so you're basically trying to put a forest fire out with a squirtgun.
Sometimes putting a fan next to electrical equipment that produces heat can be a bad thing, It can interrupt the airflow or even blow hot air back into the system. I'm not sure if it will have a negative effect for the 360 though,
