Hey everyone!
I wanted to share a little project I've been working on: an English fan translation of Arabians Lost: The Engagement on Desert (アラビアンズ・ロスト), a Japanese-only PSP otome game developed by QuinRose.
Funny enough, this whole thing started as something I wanted to do for my girlfriend. I figured I'd try translating a game that never got an official English release so she could enjoy it without the language barrier and eventually I thought: why not share it with everyone else who might want to play it?
I'm not going to pretend that every line has been professionally translated or reviewed by a native speaker. While the entire script has been processed and the automated checks pass, there's a big difference between having everything translated and having a perfectly polished localization.
That's actually one of the main reasons I'm sharing it here.
I'd love to get feedback from people willing to test it, especially anyone familiar with Japanese or the original game. Awkward dialogue, mistranslations, untranslated text, formatting issues, crashes — anything you find would be genuinely helpful.
The repository contains the English patch, installation instructions, and the tools used for the project.
You'll need your own copy of the original Japanese PSP game to apply the patch. No game ISO is distributed.
You can report issues directly on GitHub or leave feedback in this thread.
I'm also interested in working on other Japanese-only games in the future, especially ones that have been overlooked or are unlikely to receive official localizations.
I know AI-assisted translations aren't everyone's cup of tea, and I completely understand that. This started as a personal project, not a professional localization effort. But I figured that if the work I've done can help even a few more people experience a game they otherwise couldn't, it's worth sharing.
Anyway, thanks for reading! If anyone decides to give it a try, I'd love to hear how it goes.

What's been translated?
At this point, the translation covers:- 100% of the scenario text (35,713 dialogue and narration records).
- Character nameplates.
- System menus, buttons, and interface text.
- English text formatting and word wrapping.
A note about the translation
I want to be transparent about something: this project was developed with the help of AI translation tools, alongside custom scripts and automated checks for text extraction, reinsertion, and formatting.I'm not going to pretend that every line has been professionally translated or reviewed by a native speaker. What's next?
For now, my priority is gathering feedback, fixing any problems people encounter, and improving the translation wherever possible.I'm also interested in working on other Japanese-only games in the future, especially ones that have been overlooked or are unlikely to receive official localizations.
