After reading around and seeing alot of people mention OfflineList and the Data from Advanscene, I decided to download it, but I have absolutely no idea what to do to even get started. I open OfflineList but, theres simply nothing there. All the buttons at the top are grey'd out. I tried to search around myself to find some type of documentation, or guide or tutorial... ANYthing, but have turned up empty. Can anyone kindly point me in the right direction?

To add a new dat click DATS at the bottom of Offline List, click IMPORT, select the dat that you have downloaded from ADVANsCEne and click open.

Select Tools/Options/Renamer and check Use Renamer to use the renaming function.

To download updated dats and new pics: Tools/Update "check" what you want to download and "check" the dat that you will download to.

When I click on the DATS button and select the file I got from Advanscene, after I click open it doesnt seem to do anything. It just goes back to the import screne where I select the DAT again, like nothing happened. All the buttons are still greyed out at the top.

It occurs to me that I probly wont even know what to do with it once I got it up and running correctly anyway. There really should be some sort of basic readme included with it.

Basically all I wanted to use it for was to verify my roms and make sure they are all up to snuff before loading em to my DS. If thats all I wanted to do, can I just go to Advanscene.com and use their release list to compare rom size and the crc with the ones I've downloaded?

Wow, dont I feel stupid. I somehow totally missed the dropdown window next to the DAT button. Thanks for the help there NDSFreak.

I still dont really know what exactly I am doing from here, but at least I can bring up the games and see the info on em. All I want to do is verify the roms I have downloaded. Is that simple?

Just add the folders you wish offline to use under: Tools/Options/Renamer then you can add new roms (ziped) under: ROMs/Add new ROMs

Ah ok, I think I got it. So after I add the rom, and it gets verfied (by the green color) then that means the rom is a clear go to upload to my DS now? Also, after it moves to the verified roms folder, can I delete the initial unverfied rom now?

If green it's verified and ready to upload, but you should only rename roms that you have a backup of, you never know what could happen with programs

@Tanas it only write zip and 7zip but can read everything 7zip can (actually I think it may have disabled lzh and some other less common ones but you get the idea).

@cheekydollar it can be done but I do not have the app in front of me: enable the rom selector (under one of the options) and right click on the list and hit add to selector. Then hit one of the pulldown menus and show selector which pops a window up and gives you extraction options, a nice bonus is you can enable a trimmer as well.
