Hello,
Actually, I am using Browserhax, but since I seen it was fixed, I wanted to install Themehax with the Homebrew launcher.
So, I launch the Themehax installer Homebrew, And i Get a black screen with instruction, I press A (=YES), and after that, there is wright:
"Invalid HTTP content-size: 0x0000a468.
Failed to download the actual payload with HTTP: 0xffffffffd.
Install failed: 0xffffffffd.
Press START to exit."
How can I fix that, please?

Oh, and I also tried to install the payload and the ropbin.
I've installed the otherapp payload for my version (N3ds 10.1-0-27) and i've renamed the ropbin as menuhax_something... .bin. the two of them are in the root of my sd card.

Oh, thank you, I'll try!
You replace the ropbin after themehax installed, not the other way. Make sure the ropbin is renamed after the ropbin generated by the themehax.

You don't need the payload for themehax. Only the ropbin.

Ok, so, an error occured.
This time:
"Error reading otherapp bin from sdmc..
Loading info from hblauncher otherapp payload...
Failed to parse the payload: 0xffffffff.
Install failed: 0xffffffff.
An error occured, please report it to [not interesting...]
Press START button to exit"
I deleted the otherapp payload and the ropbin payload from the root.
What have I to do, please?

Are you sure your file/folder placement is correct?
Delete themehax_installer folder in 3DS folder. Copy the themehax_installer folder from the 1.3 offline zip into 3DS. You need to delete the old one, replacing won't work.

I will try. The last time, I've replaced the older folder.
So this time, I'll delete the 1.3 to replace by the 1.3.
The emplacement is correct, by the way (Where I put all the other Homebrews).

Homebrew app folder needs to be inside 3DS folder.

You can install ThemeHax v1.2 with the offline version, and then, replace the ropbin in the root folder with the new one on the smea's github

Yes, I put all the homebrew apps folder in "N3ds/micro-sd/3ds" ans it always work.
Actually, I'm trying to do what you said.

Yes! The Installer Worked!
Now, I just have to learn how to use it! Thank you!

You're all doing it wrong. The error is from the online installer, not the offline one. The starterkit comes packaged with the online one so if you already put the offline one in there, it's going to overwrite it. Also the online one obviously doesn't work as it's broken.

To configure -> Choose Option 1 (Button A) + touch bottom screen = Auto-Boot
Leave it at Option 1 (default) = Boot into Themehax by holding L when power on.

It worked once, but now, it's no longer working. And my browser is actually block by the "update message"
Download the ropbin 2.5 by choosing the correct model (old vs new) firmware , region for your 3DS. Rename the ropbin after the ropbin generated by the themehax, then replace old one with the newly renamed one. You can't change theme with themehax.

By the way, will Themehax work if I install a custom theme?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

When I've seen it work, I reboot the 3ds. When I have press the power button, It launch. I've retried, but Nothing: My custom theme disappear (It was the white theme) and he doesn't launch.
And, I precise that I don't speak English as well as you, because I'm french. If I made mistake, please don't notice them.

yall im torn... ive been hacking away at tales of phantasia GBA (the USA version) and have so many documents of reverse engineering i've done
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves

  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@Karma177 that sd card is 100% faulty so yes, its a bad idea
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the slowest non-sdhc sd cards are a few MB/s
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
@The Real Jdbye it hasn't given me any error trying to write things on it so I don't really think it's faulty (pasted 40/50gb+ folders and no write errors)
