The game works beautifully on Gateway here. Pretty disappointed with how the game looks to be honest though. It is fun (being that its my 1st time playing it and didn't play it for the Wii), however the graphics are pretty nasty and dull.. I was hoping it would look nice and vivid.. the grass is especially very grayish and dull in the game Not impressed with it.. MH4U looks really beautiful on the N3DS in 3D was hoping it'd be the same for this game.
Stated on whichever page either someone with a n3ds and whom bought the game from the eshop and has a nand mod can make xorpads and build a CIA or we have to wait for gateway/homebrewers to crack the n3ds 9.3/9.4 key.
Also format you card to exfat there is no 4gb file size limit
I didn't read the 22 pages, but YES the game works on Sky and it's epic. I have just over 15 hours into it already, and plan on beating it over this weekend. No issues so far.
Edit: Side note - NO WAY will this game EVER work on the O3DS. Trust me on this. There is actual slowdown at some parts of the game, even on the N3DS.

Forgot just how amazing this game is. Absolutely everything is top-notch - the story, the music, the fighting system and the ridiculous amount of scale that the game has with virtually no loading times. I'm still absolutely astounded how MonolithSoft managed to squeeze this game into the Wii. Probably the most impressive programming feat last generation.
You can easily lose over a hundred hours into this game just by exploring, it's ridiculous lol
give up guys i doubt it will happen and it wouldnt just be "laggy" it would probably at best display the menu then crash going into game........i would place my bets on goes to launch and crashes fullstop never making it anywhere near the game.

Not even that I'm sure. Even if you patch, "IsRunOnSnake", once it tries loading data past the 64MBs of the old3ds, it will just crash or show a black screen error -- let's not even talk about all the references to absent hardware registers on the old3ds. You would have to disassemble and rewrite huge chunks of the game (in assembly lol) just to maybe have a remote chance of a barely playable chug-fest. It's a silly and unrealistic noob fantasy.
The New 3DS doesn't have a faster CPU. It has 2 more cores. Cores are like independent CPUs built onto the same chip. Whereas the OG3DS had a dual core, the New 3DS has a quad core. The OG reserves 1 core for system, where the New reserves 1 for system and 1 for face tracking.
This effectively means 3DS software is written to use a single core, where N3DS software is written to use 2.
You can't just "hack" it, open hexedit and change some values in there. Sure, you can probably bypass all the various checks the 3DS does in making sure you're not doing something incredibly stupid, but the only thing you'll be rewarded with is a crash. Xenoblade was written to use 2 processors. The OG just doesn't have that many available.
It would be like if I removed half of your brain, you probably wouldn't be able to understand this post (not that your full brain is helping any, it seems...)
And this is just one problem on a list of reasons why Xenoblade won't work with an OG. It's never, ever going to happen.
You would need a flashcart with extra cores just to load it. Even then, you 'd need more memory/RAM or it would crawl. The old 3DS only has 128mb. I'm sure they dropped at least 512mb-1GB into the N3DS.
Now the question is how many games will they release before they shift out the old model completely and give up on trying to patch it into hell? Then again, most old 3DS games were barely worth their $40.oo in game size, yet alone needing the processing power. So maybe after a year or so when Nintendon't gets desperate enough they'll just throw it out with the rest of the garbage and force feed the N3DS to your grand-kids.
No one will want it anyways because you can't play the new games your friends are paying full price for anyhow... Ahh Nintendon't, how you learned to rob children of their lollipops. The Yakuza taught you well.
Not even going to mention the gaming industry and why Gamergate REALLY happened...
Equal rights?
Nope.
Money.
Sex.
And Drugs.
It'll get worse later this year when the addicts (publishers) need a fix and there's nothing left but free-to-pay-or-gtfo. And people will... Already happened to Evolve. Need we mention the PSN Xbone network takedown? People are broke and angry. Last thing I'd want to be holding is candy on a stick in front of an angry mob.

flashcard with more cores to load it? you know it works on sky3ds and gw3ds right? the flashcard is prepared for it , so the cartridge doesnt have any difference other than the game needs things done faster than o3ds

I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
