so I downloaded the latest version on r4 1.18 but pokemon black v5 does not work
how to get this working

That's because that 'latest' version was out of date nearly three years ago. Try Wood R4 v1.15.

If your R4 runs the official v1.18 then it should run this. If not it may be time for a new cart.
