Well, just trying to rule things out.
How big is the sd card?
Have you tried another card?
128gb samsung pro :/ i did a quick fat32 format and switch said couldnt use it on startup, so im doing a low level fat32 format but that's 3 1/2 hours from now, so if anyone has any other ideas.

No need to low level fat32 format it. Your card won't be recognized by the switch unless your switch has the exfat update, which it obviously does not. Just use windows format to format it to fat32, should work fine, it has for hundreds if not thousands of others...

It was exFAT before I started format to FAT32 and switch used it just fine. :/

This exact same thing happened to me bro. What you have to do is copy all your files on the SD card and put it in a folder on your PC. Format the SD with formatgui, just default settings. After, copy files back over and it should work :)

Windows won't make FAT32 partitions larger than 32GB, he needs to use another tool such as guiformat or Minitool Partition Wizard.

Oh, well it seems you should be able to solve all this on your own then, shouldn't be too hard to figure out, I'm not even sure why you're asking for help?

the switch used it fine, not HBMenu, ive got another sd on order, ill try again when it gets here.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

so i found a smaller 32gb my wife gave me, guiformatted, default settings, copied over my directory, inserted in switch then.......

Error Code: 2016-0247
"Unable to access microSD card."

Sooooooooooo my switch doesnt like FAT32? o.O

sigh

tried formatting fat32 using windows format ... nope, same error, so i disk part cleaned, inserted and formatted via switch...
launched hbmenu 2 again...

NO APPLICATIONS FOUND ON THE SD CARD >.<

IM GOING CRAZY!

edit: oh and apparently it is now fat32 formatted via the switches format and reads it just fine, and yeah nro's are in /switch/ and i'm lost/mentally insane now :(

screen shot of the folder structure?

If you're getting to hbmenu, it's reading the hbmenu.nro correctly off the SD card. So that should leave only the folder structure and the actual .nro files that you're using as potential problems.

It should look like:
sd:/hbmenu.nro
sd:/switch/app1.nro
sd:/switch/app2.nro
sd:/switch/folder/app3.nro

You also might be able to just rename another nro to hbmenu.nro and replace hbmenu with it. Then using the web exploit should launch it.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
