Laptop GTX use as much power while AMD made some huge improvement from RX 460 and RX 480.
Also, I should point out The AMD chips are 14nm finFET while the GTX chips are 16nm finFET which is pretty surprising seeing as how the gaps between the chips arent that large even though the amd chips have the advantage.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

In terms of raw horsepower Nvidia is killing it, but AMD is holding on solidly to their spot as budget/mid-range king.
Indeed, AMD are definitely the better choice for those on a budget.

Seems a maxwell chip is pretty much confirmed, thanks to Eurogamer confirming VentureBeat. We have bo clue if its 16nm or 20nm though. Pretty depressing that its considerably less powerful than XONE. Im guessing theyll release a mid gen refresh or an SCD to counteract this in the future. Also you guys think this'll utilise the grid?

What's the link for the Eurogamer article? I'm curious as to what THEIR sources are

This is really weird. I understand about stacked processor being used, but 1020MHz is far below a53's standard clock. The only way for this spec to work with the old overclock x1 devkit (so it's even faster than the dev kit) is four layers of 256 cores (or higher, so essentially 1024 cores, matching those of GTX 1060 3GB but considerably less clock) taking a slightly less footprint, and at 700 (or according to Foxconn leak 900) MHz that's between Xbox One S and PS4 Slim. And Maxwell is actually worth more clock for clock and still a good three generation ahead of Radeon 8000 series. However, I think Nintendo will go with TCMC's 16nm than the older 20nm for the custom chip.
Also Eurogamer's statement about Xbox One S using 16nm is wrong. AMD is using GF at the moment, which uses Samsung's older 14nm, including Polaris/ Vega and the refreshed hardware for PS4 Slim/ Pro/ Xbox one S/ Scorpio.

Well, I'll wait. Too many contradictions. Besides, no devs have been complaining.
Actually the dev of Elder scrolls said they are really confused about Switch's spec and won't develop for a console that cannot handle the basic stuff.

Funny, there is no source for that unsubstantiated BS claim.

Nice try though, passing it off as news.

Can I get a source for all this?

He's BSing, there is no source for that. He's faking.

Even if it's Maxwell it'll have at least 75% of XBO's power, and more importantly, both Maxwell and Pascal support all major modern gaming engines.
With 3 generations of advancement, and how Nvidia still 'worth more' in terms of Teraflops, the switch will perform better than the original xbox one even at a lower Teraflop. That said, rx 480 is faster than gtx 980 despite similar teraflop rating.
If it's 1024 core, 300 MHz this thing will run Crisis.

What why

//Sent from my glorious OnePlus X
1) Tegra x1 needs overclocking to remotely match the switch according to the older dev kit. This combined with Eurogamer's statement about 307.2MHz suggest at least 1024 cuda cores. This gives 629G fp32.
2) At docked mode, this gives 1.57T fp32. This is even higher than Xbox one S. And with technological advancement, this can trash PS4. This is around the same as gtx 950.
