Despite Nintendo having recently released the New 2DS XL, it seems that the company isn't stopping focus on the older 2DS model. Nintendo of America's Twitter account showed off a new bundle that's set to hit store shelves on August 25th. Retailing for $79.99, it'll be a standard red and white original 2DS system, with New Super Mario Bros. 2 pre-installed. This is likely being released as a reminder that there's a budget-oriented option for Nintendo fans that aren't invested in the 3DS ecosystem yet.

New Super Mario Bros. 2 was a good game. Albeit being VERY short (Beat it 100% in less than 10 hours...), it was a charming and amusing game. As for the 2DS, it's just a regular old 2DS. However, the color scheme looks absolutely fucking TERRIBLE.

2DS hardware is exactly the same as any non New 3DS hardware.
The only reason people hate the 2DS is because of the shape, not
the actual gameplay performance.
