ok, tried and tested, i played the game using my method for ages and no freezes or rests, nothing un-toward.

so to confirm.

i can boot NSMB via disc, using Neogamma r8- beta 7, using Cios249 rev 15.

i do not have any mod chips. will try one more thing tomorrow regarding my method before i tell everyone how i did it, well unless some one else figures it out and releases it before me LOL

My copy is freezing using the full retail (NTSC) disc on a hard modded system (wiikey). Just running the game straight from the wii drive.

I can reproduce the freezing 100% of the time during both of the boss fights in world 1 (first castle & end level fight). Seems like if you defeat the boss using a jump as the final hit, the game will lock up completely at the exact moment where you make contact with his head. This only happens if the 3rd & final hit is a jump--fireball defeats him with no problems.

i noticed some people asking if an original bought version will work on a hard modded console.
the answer is YES.

I am in AU & my copy was delivered 12/11/09
I have a D2C console with D2sun chip.
I dumped it, brick-blocked it & got about 9 minutes of play out of it like everyone else.

My kids then put the original in, & the bloody thing did 2 separate updates. The first update took about 20 seconds, the second about 120 seconds. This was all on the delivery day. The game (original) has been played non-stop since then, and not a problem.
The save file which was created by the backed-up disc worked on the original.

i tried with neogamma r8 beta 7 and cios249 rev 15, it starts but then gets the 002 read error, i remember seeing the disabling of the 002 read error in earlier versions of neo gamma but i dont see it in this one... any way to get it back?

What the heck.. I always get a green screen. A gray screen when I use usb loader. I'm softmodded. I have the cIOS thing and did the Dop-IOS stuff.

I finally tried using a USB AND a SD card, and tried neogamma and usb loader, and tried forced NTSC. I still get a green screen =(.

I'm using"[Wii]New_Super_Mario_Bros[PAL][FIX WORKS ON USBLOADER_DVD]" and people even commented that it worked with them with neogamma and usb loader.. hmm @_@..

I always like when people say stuff like that. I did this and that.. but... I'm not telling anyone until tomorrow!!! What's the point?
Next time just post when you're ready to tell people how to do it.

try using usb cfgloader 47b2 (it's beta 2)..then 002 fix and force NTSC, and video patch ...those settings worked for me, although i have the first release, not the FIXED one..

Running it with no problems on a softmodded Wii (non-LU64) via USB.

- Pre-patched ISO.
- Running system menu 4.2
- cIOS rev14
- cfgloader (latest version); forced game to NTSC.

Honestly don't see why so many NTSC people seem to be having problems with this one.

Does it require system menu 4.2?

It works on USB Loaders at least. Some people say it works on disc loaders with with cIOS rev15 and either NeoGamma rR8 b7, but I'm still weary about cIOS rev15 and its bugs as well as the reliability of these reports.
