If codes don't work then start hacking the main.dol file atleast your going to get somewhere when you hack it try disabling the protection if you can I really do believe that's the major problem I do have to say Nintendo did a good job protecting this game they did make it tough to crack like I said hack the main.dol file and see what you can change maybe patching error # 001 & # 002 would be a good start.
You can't just check the main.dol because the file is encrypted.

Isn't this where the common key should come into play? I mean, just about everyone has this

http://gameanyone.com/live/volvagia - streaming 2-1 onwards, trying to figure stuff out to see how long i can run it without crashing, it's sucsessfully ran for an hour without crash, but then i had to transfer the sd data over due to the quick save crap stopping, and no (not always going back the wii menu) but closing out of the game via quick save. you'll need to make an account though to comment in the box.

I was told that taking the disc out for thirty seconds to a minute after each level serves as a temporary solution. Anyone wanna lay the smackdown on (or confirm) this method?

Don't know if this has just been said, but I tested it, and I still crashed in 1-2
frown.gif
weirdly it crashed 4 seconds after I'd just put the disc back in after doing it about 3 times before without hassle.

I ran it on Dolphin, but it went a pretty steady 8 frames per second. =P

I can wait for the official release, but not if that shit tries to update my Wii. =/

Any reports on getting a retail version of the game running without having to update?

You need to read what you just wrote here, because while is is (barely) english, I have absolutely no idea what you are trying to say. Take a deep breath, gather your thoughts, and try again.

go there and watch several things be tried,
happy?
forgive me it's 1:02am.

Alright, I've been watching but you keep doing the save-reset trick after dying 2-3 times in a row

You said you played for over an hour without a crash? What method did you try to do that?

Um no. Just because you can extract main.dol out of the ISO doesn't mean you can read the file.

Is there any chance that this is Metaforic's work?
Someone pointed out the deal with Nintendo for the DS

http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/13/metafori...s-for-ds-games/

Read the way they word it there -- they put security directly into the game code, so it becomes intrinsically linked... they say that metaforic's implementations are designed to spot the patching (and auto-patching) that goes on when playing a game on an R4 for example.

Logic leads me to believe that the reason why the backups fail and why USB doesn't work is because someone - be it Nintendo themselves or a contractor - has sat down and figured out how to make USB/DVDx/cIOS fail under certain conditions. The game routinely presents those conditions making the game freeze out, while retail discs go on unaffected.

I am still trying to get a hold of an orig copy and don't want to touch the ISO until i have it to keep it 100% legal.

I have read the entire thread and do not see results for any of the following suggestions (correct me if I am wrong):

1. Eject the disc and reinsert *before* an expected crash (say every 10 min or so to be safe).

2. Using a 8GB nand based mod such as d2suns offerings (to gain faster read speeds)

3. Using a console modded wth a d2ckey

4. Using a console modded wth certain beta revisions YAOSM or asking "Bell" for some input.

......if these suggestions have not been tried, then I am happy to run the tests myself once I have the game.

I am sure any non-n00b will see the importance of each test.

I wonder what would happen if WODE tried to play the title. Considering it is a modification that is not out yet, there may be a chance it works with it, slim though it may be.

well i dont know how but after extracting the main.dol and then opening it with a program called hexedit it opened and i am now viewing main.dol
ill make a video if you want proof
if i try and open main.dol by just clicking and selecting what program i want it will give me an error but if i open it directly from hexedit it works but i have little to no hex editing experience at all

Good thought Orbulon. This would explain why the original retail version works on a modded wii but 1:1 back-ups will fail.
Looks like Metaforic's MetalFortress program (or something similar!) has made it onto the wii.
Not to worry tho, there will be a workaround eventually but it may differ from game to game... we might have to use PC style cracks to get games to work or have to download pre-cracked versions.

Looks like were gonna have to wait..........
